I'm short 10 pictures...I'll just wait a week or two and see if they come back, if not, I'll axe em. They range from 3 weeks old, to 6 months old...basically, a nice even spread from the time I've been here.

Thread: A question to the Mods / Admins | Forum: Community Center
Public Apology? I've been following the Quake mod community for ages too...ever since the first Quake, and I had internet access. Actually, ID software got the idea from their previous game series, Doom, when people cracked open the .wad files and started to modify the gameplay and graphics. Ever wonder why Quake was so much easier to modify? Because that was ID's big, no, HUGE, risky idea. They released the game and made it so easy to extract models and other media, so that the community at large could modify the game. That was one gimmick behind the game. They released the code even so that people could modify the game further. All this customizability made the game much more interesting, and sparked interest. People making new models were one of the reasons Quake was a huge success, and you can bet the company was just sitting back enjoying it. Because to use all these new mods and etcetera, you had to BUY their product. (well, not really, but that was back before the warez scene was so easy to access) Point is (since I digressed alot): Most game companies support individuals messing with their games' media, because it creates interest. Some people buy games on a 'wait and see' basis, and watch to see if the mod community will pounce on the game or not. Game makers know this, and use it to their best. Side note: If you've ever done low-polygon modelling, try visitng some game sites and advertising your skills, especially in older gaming communities...they really need artists :)

...another nay-say to the argument about Linux's stability being due to it's age: It's also more stable (at times, overall) because it is being programmed by thousands of programmers, instead of the core group at microsoft, which I estimate couldn't be more than a few hundred, tops. The power of open-source: When someone finds a bug, they have to power to fix it right away, or at least tell someone who can :)

...that link I posted WAS a positive alternative. Of course, you'd have to read it first.

Just so you know, these types of people are !NOT! hackers... Because, I one day aspire to be a hacker, and I would like to be able to use the term to describe myself without getting nasty looks and people threatening to kick my ass...Thread: flush with what? | Forum: Community Center

Umm...most broadband providers DO provide a single static IP address to a user...that's how it is at my parents' house, and at my apartment. And most anyone I know with cable internet connections. Of course, this might be a US only issue. That should only be common knowledge. For anyone that uses the internet.

I kinda have a rough idea for the body...but this is more of a 'build as you go' kinda project, keeping with a kinda bubbly, smooth, semi-organic shape. A powerhouse mech. Joints where? On the fingers? I can think of a way to do it actually, and I kinda have a decent idea of how to do it. But I think that I'm just going to suspend reality for the time being and just go without joints on the fingers, and see how the final project turns out first...then I'll add in the joints :)

Thread: Digital Art Prints!! Coming July 1st! | Forum: Community Center
Exactly how does the Digital Art Prints section work? Will it be just like the current marketplace, where people upload specific images made for print sizing, or can you take gallery images and request prints? This sounds very interesting...I just might find some posters for my walls anyways.
Thread: Programs that model like bryce? | Forum: 3D Modeling
I'd have to say... I hate Bryce's modeller. I have no clue how booleans work. I much prefer Rhino over Bryce. But then again, I'm a very analytical, almost CAD-oriented person. I just like the concept of tri-view drawings, because it gives me alot of freedom to see my work from multiple angles as I work. I have personally never seen the Lightwave modeller, but from what screenshots and renders I've seen, it looks to be even better than Bryce or Rhino, much better. Now, for that 700$ to buy it...
