I'm sitting here at work on a T1 and it's extremely slow. It's been getting progressively worse over the last few weeks. What amazes me is how much disk space these guys must be using. 3D Commune fires right up for me, but then again, it's a smaller site with far fewer users. It could be a matter of too many users and too much data to parse, or Renderosity has a host with a crappy backbone.

I'm glad you're happy for me. But why would you format an image to be best viewable on a black background? IMHO an image should be best viewed on ANY color background. When a viewer clicks on an thumbnail of yours to see the entire image (provided he or she is a member and can do so), just how much background are they looking at? Furthermore, how do you know your visitor likes black better than white? BTW I admire your work, and viewed your images on both black and white backgrounds. They look fine either way to me, but as the old cliche goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I honestly do not believe that the new color scheme dramatically changes how images are viewed and/or appreciated. If I didn't like the image, it would matter the color of the background at all. I simply wouldn't like it. For all you know, half the people here have brown backgrounds :)

"It is about vague, unclear, and contradictory standards. It is about new standards not listed in the TOS. It is about things not permitted in the galleries that are permitted in the Marketplace. It is about some Mods/Admins with little to no people skills. It is about a lack of understanding and little desire to attempt understanding. It is about how defending a decision becomes more important than understanding the issue. It is about how being right becomes more important that being fair." It's also about what brings in the CASH to Renderosity.

IMHO buyer beware! Also IMHO, if I were a vendor and if the purchaser is not happy with my product, and if I couldn't bring him satisfaction, I'd simply return his money and send him on his way. Who needs bad press on a message board viewable to thousands because of my temper?

Sorry for the large image example, but for me it took all of 2 minutes to return to the way I had everything set up before the change-over. The only thing I can't change are the top and side bar colors, but with the black background I've chosen it looks OK to me. As far as newbies go...I'm going to give most of them credit for enough brains to figure out how to adjust colors to their personal preference, as that option appears on their profile page. This site is still well organized and very well managed. Change can be hard to accept for some people, but most people DO accept it and DEAL with it. It's been so long since the makeover that I'd nearly forgotten about it. IMHO Renderosity remains the best artist community on the Internet.
