I think the sixpence must be pretty famous

interesting to see! as I enjoy collecting old coins ;)

image from one of my father's collector books of Liberty Walking Halves

"...first issued in 1916. The design shows Liberty progressing in full stride toward the dawn of a new day, carrying branches of laurel and oak, symbolical of civil and military glory. The hand is outstretched in bestowal of the spirit of liberty."

the letters are mint marks, S for San Francisco, D for Denver, none for Philadelphia

We thought the dog was so cute riding shotgun (although it looked pretty dangerous) that I insisted we catch up so I could take a picture, but once we saw the driver we quickly got the hell out of there! (think he was related to Ghost Rider)
