I tried that and sadly it didn't work. However when i use Hexagon 2, everything works just fine. Sadly there are a lot of great tools in 2.5 which are sadly missing in ver 2. I have written a rather "LARGE" note to DAZ about this issue so we will see what they have to say in the near future.
Thread: Hexagon to Carrara import issue | Forum: Carrara
Thanks for your help with this. I am using Carrara8.5pro and the latest Hexagon. but I also have version 2 of hexagon before Daz purchased it. I tried it out and it exports to carrara just fine but the problem with version 2 is that it is missing a few helpful tools so now i have to decide do i proceed with .car or just run with the industry standard .obj. Thanks again for your help. Much appreciated.
Thread: Spline or Vertex | Forum: Carrara
I did try the earlier suggestion of converting it into a vertex model and then I checked out the result. A massive YUK! It had turned it into nothing but a triangulated mash of which there was no way I would model like that "I always use quads in my modeling" and so I knew the vertex model would show as a larger model than the spline. As far as rendering goes, have never heard of the "Octane plugin".. what is it and where do i get it from?

Thanks for the info. It certainly helps me. The project I am planning will take some very complicated vertex work but a lot of of simpler shapes that i know the spline can handle. So combining the two trying is the plan to save the CPU count.
Again, thanks for the information.

I also tend to use the vertex modeller or Hexagon for the more complicated models. But there are so many ways you could literally cheat by using the spline modeller. I am just wondering if it would be worthwhile using that option on some models without pushing the CPU... and i know what you mean about the hair situation, why do you think I shave my head these days LOL

I too am also a photographer (I use a nikon d90 kit with a few lenses and other accessories) sadly due to my illness (a condition called SUNCT) I haven't been able to get out for a while. So as well as your 3d, I also sit at my drawing table and create coloured pencil paintings then to have a total break from the art side for even just a few hours I turn to my piano and disappear into the world of classical and modern romance pieces (as piano instrumentals) played solo with backing tracks that I create in Flstudio. And all of this because I am not allowed to work for a living due to epilepsy. But at least I get to do the things I love (including walking the dog ?).

LOL.. Sorry but when I saw the image it just happened to make me laugh a little because I am not only a 3D artist but I am also a coloured pencil artist as well. Hence the giggle when I saw the book. But it is gorgeous image.

He sounds like a real idiot. If he hates it so much, then why doesn't he just ignore its existence and get on with other things in life. Personally, i love the program and its sister modeller Hexagon of which soon I will be releasing some new free Carrara models via ShareCG. They both get a major thumbs up from me :-)
Thread: Need help removing watermark | Forum: Photoshop
To remove the watermark is in fact a breach of copyright and totally illegal. Anyone helping you in your endeavors is also included in breach of copyright. The only only way you can remove it is to find the original purchase point and purchase a copy of the original. You will also probably find that the purchased version will be a larger and, higher resolution than what you have at this moment.
Thread: What other programs are there that are like Photoshop? | Forum: Photoshop
You could have a look at Serif Photoplus which gave me a good start when it came to starting with Photoshop. I say this because the program construction is very similar. It is not free but is very cheap considering what it can do. You can it via the following link... http://www.serif.com/photoplus/
