Thread: The app thread ! DEBATE | Forum: 3D Modeling
Lightwave, is the tool i use, i've tried some others but they never got to me for diffrent reasons .. when i finally layed my eyes on Lightwave, i was sold, i could say; Love at first sight, cause thats what it was, this app had a certain something that the others didnt have and i liked the layout, functionality and the easy-to-learn concept. Thats how i experience LW, its easy to learn and to get an over-all grip on, a bit harder to master perhaps, but once you do, its well worth it cause it has everything you need, you dont need external plugins to get a certain job done, even if it sometimes speeds up the process, its not necessary! And another strong-hold is definatly the way you can approch a problem, when you encounter them - cause you probably will sooner or later in any app - you can always solve a problem in a variety of diffrent ways! I've seen a gazillion diffrent ways to create a certain mesh, this is good, cause you can always find your own methods and apply them to LW and get the job done! to put it simple, Lightwave is a great tool, easy to learn and a master among masters! :) Once and always a Lightwaver :) peace //Benny.

Thread: quadrangles vs triangles | Forum: 3D Modeling
I have to agree with Teyon,, quads are a bit easier to handle cause triangles tends to effect one and another alot more than quads do,, but as for my own preference i have to say,, again,, its all about what you are trying to create,, triangles can be very useful when you want to achice wrinkles and such like,, while on the other hand quads offten looks more "smooth" on a complex object only my personal experience ,, so i'd say, quads vs. triangles?,, well,, its all a matter of what you are trying to achive :-) just my 2 cents

Thread: Curious personality trait? | Forum: 3D Modeling
i my opinion, i'd say there is no way to say wich is the best,, meaning ,, it depends on what you are trying to achive,, i dont go about doing a box with 100 polys when i actually just need 6 to complete that task,, but if i want to add some nice detail to it, more polys will be added,, my point being,, i balance the number or poyls to what i want to achive and how i want to look in the end ,, and textures/bump maps as Teyon said are also an important part of the final look of your model,, and a good texture can make your models alot better for sure ,, so in conclusion ,, i'd say,, a good balance of polys and textures/bump maps can make your model look really good :-) just my 2 cents

Thread: small update on my male model | Forum: 3D Modeling
In my opinion i think the head is a little bit to small for that body ,, or it could just be a "trick-of-the-eye" cause it seems like the body is a bit to thick ,, make the body slightly thinner shoulders/back part and it should look better just my 2 cents :-)

Thread: Head | Forum: 3D Modeling
ok, one other thing you could check,, is,, make sure the points in each poly in the circled area are not too twisted so the poly turns out bad,, i know i had that problem in a model once,, later
