Oh yeah, the 6800's smoke. They're coming down in price too now that nvidia's newest generation has been out for a little while.

Yeah, this is a gforce 5xxx or something. Enough to get me by for what I'm doing. 6600's are awesome and can be had for pretty cheap too.

Thanks for fixing that. Hi ren. Most poser files (and these too) come with a separate .obj file containing the geometry. You can also download daz 3d's free studio thingamajigger which will let you load the poser files and pose them plus other stuff.

I considered Shade 7, but after my experience with Poser I decided that I would never give Curious Labs another penny.

Ok, so it could work something like this? Dump my obj file somewhere (?) into the runtime directory. Copy the blank vicki cr2 to another file in the same directory as original. Point the geometry to my .obj file. Use cr2 editor program to delete all morphs, materials and extra bones. Then start poser and I should have a prop ready somewhere in the library.

I don't quite understand what it means to use the cr2 of another figure. I've read something about that elsewhere.

No, but I did figure out a work around. I saved Mr invisible to the library, and then I imported the original .OBJ file. Entered the setup room and loaded mr. invisible's skeleton. Back into the pose room and all I had to do was give him his gun back. So I didn't lose too much. thanks for the help.

Ok, so I did that. Here are the files that are new or modified within the last day under my runtime folder.

    821 Jun  9 10:15 ./prefs/LibraryPrefs.xml<br></br>
 234976 Jun  9 10:06 ./prefs/Poser UI Prefs_1280x1024.xml<br></br>
   1024 Jun  9 10:07 ./prefs/Poser.ini<br></br>
I had originally tried to create a new folder to store him in, and that just stored him. So I deleted that figure and found a new place to put him. One odd thing though is the location of the the obj files is weird. the cr2 file refers to it correctly though.
version<br></br>
{<br></br>
number 5<br></br>
}<br></br>
figureResFile :Runtime:libraries:character:warg.obj<br></br>
actor BODY:1<br></br>
Can I move the .obj file and update the reference in the cr2 file?
So now the next step is to modify the .obj file. Start poser and pull the figure back in correct?
Thanks again.

I've been changing the name of both the internal and external names. I think I have have issues with what's really left and what's really right. Poser and Silo seem to agree on the definition of left and right (orientation of the x-axis I suppose), but when I pull it into mkobj it seems reversed. Thanks again, and if you have any more ideas please let me know.
