I'm pitifully late for the entire Denver show it seems, someday it will be my turn for a little R&R...all work and no play makes me slightly miffed. (lol) Never been to that mountain high...I hear the air is so thin there that you run out of breath easily...I see you got a shot of a rodeo clown! []/;^)
Thread: Boke (bleachfix) takes MY "Opposites" Challenge--anyone else? | Forum: Photography
And now for the rest of the story...When Sheila told me abt the original thread, I said I had a few shots of me when I dressed up in mime costume. The image was not shot this month, so technically it can't be used for the challenge. I did mime skits a few times for church gatherings with the youth. I suppose I could still do it, but the make-up is probably dried up by now...I do have a woman's straw hat that I can play around with, but that's abt it...my cousin rescheduled her trip for later this week, so we'll see how far I can go with this. I could always go to a gay bar during a cross-dresser show and have the guys make me up, but I'm not that brave!

ok, I won't mention the possibilities of this being a spiritualy growing exercise, but I will mention the possibilities all around you indoors with a single light to illuminate all kinds of objects in your home. Being a tabletop photographer takes some practice in learning how to slow down and "see" the subtle lighting tones and shadows the object casts. Using a tripod frees up your one hand to move objects around in a pleasing setting...learn to create environments from simple things, and use abstract shapes and macro setting on that incredible cam of yours! Use that window you are standing in front of as a main light source whenever you can, and use a white card in various sizes to reflect/bounce light back into the shadows to soften them. Oh yea, and also have fun!!

That head of hair on Jan-Carl is what we called way back in the late 70's as a "nappy-headed white boy" hairdoo! The eyes closed got me ROFL for sure. I must now include a photo of my brother and I, taken during Christmas of 1981. I gotta scan it first...I've always had straight fine hair, and can't do a thing with it! I can see that this can go to the other end of the spectrum as well. Love ya JC!!
Thread: Put in Your Order for New Year's Day | Forum: Photography
OK, my mouth is watering, I slept in New Years Day...not because of a hangover, (learned my lesson years ago abt that) but because of much needed R&R. Had lunch (Chinese buffet) with a friend of mine...actually we pigged it out!
