Quote - Here's something intereting -
As you might have seen I'm running an unofficial survey regarding the recent content issue (mostly to satisfy some curiosity) - see link above. Yesterday I found out that there's a new Poser page at Daz3D and posted a link to said survey. To make it fair I also posted the same message to the Daz Studio forum.
Originally I posted on the commons but I wanted to get as many responders as poss.
This morning both the postings on the Poser and Studio pages were deleted.
Hmmmmmmmmmm.........
...and the post in the Commons is still there. http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=179011  They've ALWAYS deleted duplicate posts if you post the same thing to multiple forums.
Thread: Looking to hire a clothing modeling tutor | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I can't box model worth a darn, but I do fine with spline modeling. Either way an easy way to get started understanding concepts is to make a legwarmer for a figure. If you box model, start with a cylinder and squish it until it fits the leg. If you use splines, make a bunch of rings around the leg, scoot the points until they lay just above the leg mesh, then skin them. For either one, don't cap the ends of the tube and you've got a legwarmer. Then you just need to chop it into two groups to match the thigh and shin, and you can bring it into poser and rig it - very simple rig. Going through that process will help you figure out what your own personal work flow should be, which kind of modeling feels right to you, etc. If you can post a picture of the kind of thing you're trying to make, as said up above, folks can propose some different methods. Not as good as a phone call or a webex session from someone teaching you, but maybe it'll help...
Thread: order 111042211 - crc errors - can't unzip | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
I downloaded it again and this time it unzipped ok -- I'm on a newly built PC so maybe something was funky with my net connection yesterday. Thanks for checking this out and resetting my downloads!

$600, actually, without the various add-on modules (which means without radiosity, among other things). Whereas Bryce is, like $80. Vue D'Esprit is also faster than Bryce, and $200 or so, but it doesn't produce as pretty a render IMHO. The bryce image you show above has that beautiful "perfect" look to it that you just don't see in Vue renders.
Thread: Late nite Poser Trivia. Who did you used to be? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
hm, I started out as black_canary (like the comic book heroine) and since my real name's mary, that sort of morphed to MaryCanary, as a sig line anyway, so then I signed up a few places as just "canary." Meanwhile I had a yahoo id, chandracrater, taken from some SF stories I was writing at the time. So when poser finished eating every second of the time I used to spend writing, I figured I'd get a new yahoo id that matched up to my forum id's so I wouldn't have to keep explaining why I was chandracrater@yahoo.com! but someone already had "canary@yahoo.com" so I went for canary3d@yahoo.com and registered www.canary3d.com. But I was still black_canary here, which didn't match, so I signed up as canary3d here as well and have used that at other forums since then. Wow, that's a whole saga! A really boring one :) -Mary

p.s. the textures in the top picture (the green ones) ARE included, it's just the yellow textures in the last pic that aren't.

Suggestion: make an animated magnet set that pulls any clothing item off. Or maybe different magnets for dresses or pants. With a magnet, it can apply to several body parts at once; then you animate the pulling-off motions.

by the way, if you set up your camera focals the way you like them and then save your preferred state, it'll use your new settings as the defaults as long as you don't use "factory settings."

you mean when you go to load it into the scene? you have to select it in the library and click the double-check icon at the bottom to load it into the scene. Then you can conform it.
