Quote - In further research I came across this link but seems not regularly updated since the comment thread is over a year old so would test with it cuation http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=21598 second here is a link to the Blender wiki with a list of add on scripts which will gives you an idea of which ones are stable and which are still in developement http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Extensions:2.6/Py/Scripts regretfully I saw none specific for importing dff files
Thanks for that info. I'll have to check it out.
Thread: Blender DFF import/OBJ export | Forum: Blender
Quote - Hello cherokee69
Which version of Blender are you using and what options are you choosing in the obj export options it may look diffirent from mine since I am using 2.68a but when you are about to export and where you will save your export you should see on your left hand side might need to scroll but an Obj export option panel See my attached image as an example. I also looked for further information on the Grand Theft Auto DFF format and the only information I found about loading it and transforming it to an obj format was using a set of scripts that were written for 3DS Max I have not come across anything similar for Blender as of yet so hope that it might be something as simple as the obj export options I mentioned at the begining of my post hope it helps some
I'm using 2.64 and I've noticed even on import, Blender adds the Mat_XXXX_001 (usually where the XXXX is would be the model name and the 001 continues on through all numbers, like, 002, 003, 004, etc for each material file) for materials. I've downloaded 2.68a but can't find the DFF Import/Export plugin to go with it.
I did check those items you suggested but nothing worked in saving the original material names without Blender renaming them.
Do you have any other ideas on that.
Thanks

Thread: UV Mapper Pro in Windows 8? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just a little info here in case anyone has a problem with UVMapper Pro and Windows 8. I finally got UVMapper Pro working now. Never could find any error as to why it wasn’t opening so I decided to check the Event Logs. It seems every time I ran the program, I’d see this in the event log… Reset to device, DeviceRaidPort0, was issued. Researched this on the net and finally ran across a solution to update the device driver. Updated the drivers for the hard drive and UVMapper Pro started working right away. So now, instead of taking 3 minutes to open, it now takes about 3 seconds.
I never have heard anything back from Steve Cox.

Quote - i use version 3,5pro on win 8 pro
I've bought 3.6 pro which worked fine on Windows 7 but won't even open on Windows 8. Doesn't even show up in Task Manager.

Quote - The latest version, 3.6c works in Windows 8.
Not on my computer. How did you get it to work on yours? When I click to open it, it doesn't.

Has anyone had any luck in figuring out why UVMapper Pro won't work in Windows 8 but did work in Windows 7?
Thanks

Quote - It looks pretty good. For more shine, increase the IOR parameter.
Thanks Ted, I'll give that a shot and see how it turns out......tomorrow. It's after midnight here and I need to head to bed.
How about those render and light settings? Are they OK?

Here is the render I mentioned in the PM. Color looks good. Maybe more shine. Not sure about the render and light settings. I'm using setttings Tom posted in his 2005 Mustang thread.
What do you think?

Quote - I knew it was a candy paint before I read what you posted.
The nature of candy paint is that it isn't one color. It varies with viewing angle. The precise variation is something I worked on and have in a shader called BB Candy Paint. I have not had time to package it and get it into the market. However, I may be inclined to treat you as a beta tester for it and give you a copy.
Let me see if I can figure out what colors to use to match that. As you said, there is a base color and a candy color (and actually a candy thickness, too) so there are three factors to guess about. It's very difficult to match something exactly.
Do you have links to reference images (color chips) for the colors you mentioned?
That's great, thanks for helping.
House of color has these for chip colors...Wild Cherry

That shader on the panel truck does look pretty darn close doesn it.

Quote - Massive improvement, gang. Many thanks. Now please, please, pretty please with a cherry on top, get rid of all the wasted acreage at the top of the page.
Don't forget about all that wasted acreage at the bottom of the page where all the links in the drop down menus at the top of the page are duplicated at the bottom of the page.
People seem to be forgetting to look down there.
