Hello, I was wondering if you had done any more work on this Bagginsbill, I'm rather interested in it and think it would be interesting to work with.

So... everything has gont a bit quiet... How is everyone doing? Any new Dawn pics? 

I used to play Magic the Gathering back in highschool with a couple friends.

Sorry to go slightly off topic, but anyone who does clothing models... Do any of you use 3d-Coat?

I also think that skin texturing is not easy. Not something you can learn over night, takes some artistic skill and experience.

UVMaps and Texturing

You can search youtube for texturing tutorials.

no matter what app there using it's still texturing.

You can search google for texturing tutorials.

DAZ Poser characters all ready have a UVMap.

Ya paint a texture on to a UVMaps
ya can paint on the mesh in a 3D environment with app's like zBrush,C4D's BodyPaint,3DCoat etc etc
or with a 2D app like photoshop or gimp

 

I have searched youtube and google, but I haven't found any Skin Texturing tutorials that work well for me. I got Fugazi1968 tutorials on UV Mapping which has really helped me understand how to UV Map

I've tried using Hexagon... but it crashes too much. Think about trying zbrush but that seems like going from riding a bicycle (Hexagon) to piloting a jetplane... Is Silo good? I see I can get it for 60 which is way more affordable for me than Zbrush which would take a few months to get.

I just can't get a handle on making clothes... I can model a table like nobodies business... but when I try to make clothes it's "OMG why is there a edge there!":blink:

And those of us who are waiting, can think of Aug 9th as Christmas in the summer!  :-)

I always do enjoy the days before a holiday -- the anticipation.

And we'll get Dawn polished to perfection.

Jan19's gonna be ready to make some historic gowns for her, too!  Already researching styles.  It'll be lovely to model for a base figure, the way I used to model for V4, again.

Edit:  a note to hair creators...I hope y'all will put Dawn fits on your new hair models!

My plan for when Dawn comes out is to convince myself that I can make clothes for her, and then fail completely at it.
