My first priority would be what I need to do to the skull to use legacy hair content.
How's the head geometry subdivided in terms of mouth interior: is it separate (DAZ), all one piece with the head (Scarlet), mouth and jaw a separate mesh (Hivewire) or something else?
Thread: What makes a good figure? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
What makes a figure good to me is that it's baseline realistic, neutral in proportion, versatile, extensible, it comes with a good variety of body/facial morphs, and most of all that the head has a large enough poly count to make character sculpting possible without subdivision. It goes without saying that the mesh is symmetrical because too many tools rely on that expectation.
I've put quality time into both PE and LF and each has its strengths and weaknesses. I am of the opinion that PE edges out LF due to having more realistic expressions, better tooth sculpts (LF needs braces), a wider variety of shaping morphs, and an eyeball sculpt/rig you could do anatomical closeups on (the pupil is actual iris geometry, not a black dot on a diffuse map). That being said, LF has a smaller learning curve. takes V4 poses pretty gracefully, is faster to pose being mostly weightmap in rigging, but is more difficult to get unique faces out of without resorting to an external sculpting application (as useful as the morph brush is, it lacks some necessary selection transforms). I'd recommend LF for newer users and PE for advanced developers.

Apart from the idea of transferring incompatible morphs being bollocks, that is.
He's right, I hand drew every frame of this animation. Busted!

Slowly I keep changing the figure , but I've reached a point that I'm reasonably happy with the morph. I think Ulrika's nearing launch status, Who wants to take her out for a spin ? I could do with a few Beta testers.
I'd be interested, she looks good.

My condolences, never spoke with her but I sensed from her characters she put a lot of love into her work.

and none that do it with included dials
Morris' Angela for S4 at DAZ3D (Snooki Polizzi from Jersey Shore) is entirely dialed using S4 and Morphs++, but of the many, many characters I've purchased, that's the only one I know of without a single embedded morph target for the head.

Just to clarify, my nitpicks are just that and overall LF is a well developed figure, as is PE. Please no one in the dev team take my comments as a sign I don't like LF.

Admittedly it is still early days, but we shall need variation for LaFemme; just consider how many morphs have been created over the years for V4 or for her later Genesis versions.
At this point now that ZBrush has bridges to both Poser and DAZ Studio, the workflow to create characters for any Poser/DS figure shouldn't vary that much, unless there's something I'm missing here.

And Danae! The only V4 characters I miss are Danae's London/Paris sets and Blackhearted's.
I should have put an apology instead of a disclaimer. There are a large number of V4 devs who aren't currently doing Genesis characters at the moment and I don't want to call out the retired – or assume that they are no longer willing to dev for newer Poser figures, so I went with a laundry list of most recent character developers I wanted to recommend rather than just run a laundry list of everyone I've bought V4 characters from in the past. Also, I have no idea whether PAs like bluejaunte, Mousso, Deepsea, Raiya, maelwenn, Emrya, Quixotry, EmmaAndJordi etc. are exclusives to DAZ or not but they're all exceptional character artists as well.
