Me personally, I've been posting less lately, and that's because Vue has increased my self-confidence and desire to do art to the point that I'm now attempting matte painting, and I want to go into Visual FX when I finish teaching English in Japan. If you had told me 3 years ago that I'd quit my job in database marketing, fall in love with art and go to film school, I'd have told you that you were completely insane....and I feel like I owe much of it to Vue and to this community.

Ah, I see. I use SkinVue for my skin shading needs, and I'm quite happy with it, but that makes sense :)

I believe the question is, why render in Poser at all? Just use Vue as your render engine.
Thread: My first model for sale how is it? | Forum: Vue
I'd say you have time, you just need to take it offline for sale until they get back to you. Better to wait 2 weeks before it goes on sale than to be sued. Its not like the scene is flying off the shelf anyway...

The work would need to happen in Max, not Vue. Basically, you're just rendering a shaded .jpg that you import into the Vue terrain editor.
The other caveat is that if you created any overhangs in Max, those will go away, because Vue terrains are basically functions that do not allow two different x,y coordinates to share the same z coordinate.
In Max, setup a material that gets brighter the higher up you go...top down render it and save it as a .jpg or .tif

You made all the plants, all the textures, all the objects? If so, great. I would never buy someone else's scene, but that's me personally.
HOWEVER - If you did use someone else's stuff, it's a) kinda cheesy, b) opening yourself up to problems.
Knock yourself out either way, it doesn't hurt me if you are sue, banned from the site or otherwise hassled by the man.

Turn off default lens flares...you circled lens flares for stars, but you don't have any stars. The big spark is a lens flare, it's just in front of your sun.
Thread: Sky Dome WIP | Forum: Vue
They are both lens flares. If you want to see the sun, increase the "sun size" in your atmosphere...and turn off lens flares to get an accurate representation of what you're looking at.

It would be really easy to do in Photoshop...create a path, then stroke it, then feather the edges, then render clouds.
This is one of those things that unless you wanted to animate it, I wouldn't bother doing inside of Vue.

Thread: I thought Vue 6 was not backward compatible to Vue 5 scenes! It IS!! | Forum: Vue
I suppose that makes it "forewards compatible." I've never tried opening a v6 file in v5, so I'll take your word for it. It certainly goes the other way though!Â

Yeah, you were dreaming...wouldn't make a lot of sense to create a new version that wasn't compatible with the version directly before it, would it? You can't create a spectral atmo in 6 and put it back into 5, but otherwise, they work just fine together, and overall, 6 is MUCH better.
Thread: Spectral Cloud shadows? | Forum: Vue
You can still edit the material by clicking on it in the cloud layer, but if you are seeing other shadows, it's probably just an angle thing. Put a big cube in the picture and see if you see shadows from it, as a test.
