Just in case the beta release didn't do a great job at the power of 2 scaling. check the texture sizes and see if it's a problem by converting the texture sizes to a power of 2. One problem I ran into when I used a texture that was 4096 gave me the C exception error. Change the texture size to 2048 and see if it gives you the same error.

Actually I've had the same problem with P5 and only when using the Firefly renderer. Poser 4 renderer doesn't seem to yield the same problem. Before new patch was installed Poser 5 crashed a lot but I didn't get that error. It's not an obj issue though it might be a texture issue or an issue with one of the firefly render settings. Not entirely sure. I have removed bump maps. I also have an unrelated problem with the firefly renderer causing small dashes on the render. Not sure what that's about. It happens on every render. It looks like as the Firefly renderer moves across the grid there are some gaps between the grid and the scene which causes some of these gaps. I might make a post of this eventually when I have more time and if I don't continuously get these exception errors. I haven't reported the problem to CL and I want to test the problem with additional RAM. Currently my system is an Athlon 2.1Ghz, 512MB RAM, Geforce 4 Ti4400. I've used textures as small as 2000x2000 and as large as 4000x4000.

call me ignorant or naive in the world of 3d, but I don't believe the tempest rendering engine is the same as the firefly rendering engine.

Was wondering if I was the only one who noticed this little bug though I didn't research it with as much detail. Good work.

Interesting.....I can truthfully say I never noticed the perspective distortions before this post. Did a couple of test renders, using 105 and 35mm focal using the face camera. Definitely a noticeable difference. Of course playing around with that I noticed that the higher setting works great with face camera shots, but it would take a lot of manipulation if it's even possible for poser camera shots, so now thanks to Mason and tasmanet I have a better grasp on how to create better face shots without perspective distortions. Now my question would be, what to use when working with poser camera body shots. ANy recommendations there? I generally use around 50mm I think for those as a whole, but Iupped that due to ignorance just to get the view I wanted and not with any photographic knowledge.
