Thread: Silly, but not so Silly question. | Forum: Poser 12
By the way, every single UI area, besides this big blank gray space I'm staring at, has a tiny down arrow icon for more options. Why this one does not have one, I do not know.

Here is my entry. The stump is an original photogrammetry asset of mine processed in Meshroom and then cleaned up (re-meshed and texture paint editing) in Blender. The moss and the grass are original textures, modeled, and used as particles to populate the stump. (The clover texture was a CC0 asset.) (The HDRI background is also a CC0 asset from hdrihaven.com.)
Minimal editing was done in Photoshop (sharpen, slight color correction, resize, and addition of Blender badge.)
Rendered in Blender using Cycles.

I'm surprised that this change was not featured more prominently in the various contest announcements.

Well, now I read in the general rules you are encouraging posts to social media, so I guess the rules have changed. The rules, for the 3D contest at least, still show the following:
"You cannot sign your real name, nor Renderosity username, on your image or in the description. Any signed images, will not be accepted."

Happy New Year Atpo!
I first learned about the Chinese New Year back in Kindergarten. I know I was born in the year of the Snake!

Check out cgbookcase.com, especially some of the newest textures which are asphalt/road related. CC0, so free to use. Also, cc0textures.com. Both are great sites for free CC0 PBR textures.

Thread: Renderosity Community Calendar Contest for 2020 January Submissions Open! | Forum: Community Center
What are the final dimensions needed for the winning 300dpi print version? The rules state that the submission entry image needs to be 1666x1294 (72dpi), which equates to roughly a 5.6 in. x 4.3 in. image at 300dpi. Will this be the printed size of the image in the calendar, or are the print dimensions larger?
I just want to make sure I start my artwork at the largest possible dimensions needed for print should that be larger than the 1666x1294 entry submission size.
Thread: making fingers shorter | Forum: Blender
I'm not sure what mesh or model you are working with, but one way would be to use Proportional editing. This would allow you, in Edit Mode, to select the tips of the fingers, and then proportionally make them shorter. You'll likely have to experiment with the "falloff" type to see which setting works best. This is just a fairly generic answer for anything "finger" like that you would want to make shorter.

So more Elf or A Christmas Story... less Krampus or Die Hard. Got it. Thanks for the clarification.

One more question. The specs for the Animation Category states "Max file size is 50MB." I'm hoping this is an error. My Cutscene Animation contest entry was only 15 seconds long, but had a .mp4 file size of 29MB. It was 1080p at 24FPS. The previous two contests allowed for a file size of 1.5GB.

In the rules it states "Given the nature of this years theme, any submission depicting violence will be disqualified."
Seeing as this years theme includes ghosts though, I'm wondering if this statement is correct.
I did notice that there were other errors in the rules, like an entry submission deadline of October 2016.
EDIT: These were under the specifications section.

Is there a time limit to editing a post, or can you only edit it once? I noticed a simple typo that I fixed through Edit right after I made my last post. I JUST found another typo though, but I don't see the option to edit it now.
Anyway, I meant "SHIFT", with an "F"! LOL!!
