Oh bless, thanks for the replies . hborre - I'll look into the Ram usage. I really don't have many programs on it.. Bryce- Daz,  Photoshop and Alias, (artwork) Netflix, Spotify, Prime video - entertainment, Softmaker (instead of office 365). That's what I  have. I don't keep much on. Most of my work is done on the laptop, then shifted to an external hard drive once done.. and a cc cleaner sweep done after each one. I'll check the usage of Ram on a program to program basis. 

Really- I've worked on a 7 gig file, and have not had probs before. Maybe, as you said..something is running and I don't know it. I tried downsizing it..removed all layers, except the snowing layers I was working on..ie..noise, and then using the crystalizing filter. Still teh same. 

Will give it a try and then get back.

I once had a probem midway..am not so sure what it was..but the uncompleted tiff file was on my desktop..surprise surprise.... after bryce shut down. I opened it to see what it would look like. Ten percent of it was done.. the top bit. The rest..looked like those bar codes you get on products. And not in colours..in black and white. 

@thunderstone..lol..yes.. especially all the puddings..ie desserts! :-p 

Am here!! whistels hellooooo!! So good to see you all! Missed you'll like mad..though I seem to have been the one who disappeared.  Been busy photoshopping and volunteering with museums. Also been getting messed about by immigration officers, so been travelling between UK, Spain and India. Nothing I did wrong. Just they stopping the wrong people. Right now, am in Barca till mid Feb. Not so sure which direction I'll be. Theresa May has been sent a letter by an MP about me. I have no idea if I travel east or west next month.. Life's been a bummer. Bryce is still with me..and I still use it.. 

@Thunderstone.. Daz is terrible. I asked for a change in password as I can't remember what I used..though am sure it's the same one I put is..and I get no reply. I have no idea where or who to go to. 

Btw..the latest image I put in is in my gallery... photoshop though.

I turned  ..um..oops. For those who don't know my life.. I'vebeen running pillar to post..banging on walls, travelling when I don't want to. It's a long story. In London now.. dunno if West Indies or India next month.
