Quote - Can Pycarrara be used for lip sync?

Yes, it is possible to achieve simple lip sync by driving the motion with sound instantaneous power. You can start from PyCarrara_Demo1.car scene for that. Just replace the woofer by lip with deforming geometry. More accurate lip sync  requires phonemic analysis that may be possible but will require lot of Python scripting.

Here is a new animation with the same technic. 

The aircraft motion has been imported from a recorded flight done with FlighGear (free flight simulator). Rudder, ailerons and elevator motion is also automatically imported from the FlighGear record.

I have setup 3 cameras : 2 are parented by the aircraft. The third one (back camera) is parented by an object following the same motion path as the aircraft but with 0.6 second offset.

The background is a 10.000 x 5.000 HDR image done with Vue 8.

Animation and final rendered with Carrara 8 Pro in less than 4 hours per camera (i7-920). The render time is mosly linked to the smoke.
The motion is quite "nervous" because I am a beginer virtual pilot ! Smooth flight should be achieved with a good pilot ...

Here is a new test with my PyCarrara Python plugin : a fountain driven by an audio spectrum.

The fountain is built with 100 particle emitters. Each particle emitter is associated to a frequency range of the audio spectrum. The simulation handles about 25.000 particles (250 per emitter).

The Python script contains a loop with 5 steps per second. At each step, the script does:

• compute the audio spectrum with a FFT operator
• evaluate the audio power in each spectrum subband
• compute the velocity parameter of each particle emitter according to the measured power
• set 100 keyframes for the 100 particle emitters

Rendering with Carrara Pro 8. Final compositing and color grading with FXhome VisionLab Studio.

Welcome ! For sure, the number of users for this plugin is not yet very high.

The 0.4-alpha is an update for C8/32bit. C6 and C7 are still ok and I will continue to support them.

Congratulations, you are the first one to post a render with this new release !
With C7 I experience also some freezes with PyCarrara, especially when closing the software. Did not yet found what is wrong in my code.
