Thanks for the input guys. I'll load up the demo and give it a try. My PC is full of 'unused' demos and I want to make sure my nice new mac does not go the same way.

And I thought I was the only idiot to buy software, install it and forget it. Like you Bob I plan to get to grips with Blender, at least it is free, but somehow I feel it is going to be a retirement project after I have learnt to use Zbrush, Carrerra and DaZ Studio.

Can I recommend Ink9000 at Sourceforge. Its been a while since an update but does a good job of comic book renders if you take the time to play around. And it is free!
Thread: Is there a way to create a single morph combining all morphs in the figure? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Have a look in the Python Forum. There is a script available that will create one morph from all the different settings and than write INJ and REM poses for you. Only works in Poser 6 tho.
Look for SpawnCharacterP6 or similar

Thread: is there a utility to gather Poser textures into 1 folder for import | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi I use a program called Babel which from memory came from www.castironflamingo.com There is a program there called Grouper which may be a later version. Anyway this program does a great job of collecting and transferring textures except for the main figure which is easy by hand. It takes its input from the pz3 file. When I get home I'll check it out and if nobody else has supplied the answer I'll add it to this thread.

Thread: Breaking up an obj file | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the replies. I do use compose occassionally, must admit I didn't realise I could have merged all the groups with it. All methods seem to end up with having to export the different groups one by one which is the part I am trying to avoid. As all I need for a morph target is the vertices I'll dig out VB and have a go. Should while away those warm summer evenings :) Anybody want a copy if it works?
Thread: Breaking up an obj file | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the reply. I think I need to explain a little more what I am trying to achieve. After modifying a figure, normally with conforming figures attached, I export it as an .obj file for further tidying up and modification in a modelling application (usually Metasequoia, Wings or Rhino). To work on the figure as a whole I edit the .obj file and remove the group lines so that it imports as one figure. That way deformers work across joins, on the figure as a whole. Once I am satisfied I save it, and regroup it by cutting and pasting the original face data into the file. At the moment I have to reimport the file into Wings and then export each individual group, not so bad if it is only dealing with a single torso but a bit tedious once fingers start getting involved! What I hope to do is automate this process.

Thread: Mirroring an object: a scripting problem. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just a thought. You could probably achieve this using Excell. Loading the .obj file as a text file and parsing on the spaces. A simple formula should swap the winding order and mirror the object on whichever axis is required. You would still need to maually change the left and right part names by hand. The symetry commands should take care of swapping over the joint parameters if the joints are a problem.
Thread: How to Create Delta Files from Custom Morphs | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I guess you are wanting to make INJ files from your morph targets. I have had success by making the files by hand using wordpad and pasting the data from the CR2 file. ie spawn the morph targets, save the character with a new name and then open it with your favourite text editor and you will find the deltas all worked out for you. Opening an existing injection file makes a good template but make sure you rename it before saving. Sorry I cannot be more specific as I am not at my own computer.
