Thanks all for your help, I will check out the options you have given. Yes Operaguy I have a sequence of still images which I have postworked and now wish to make into an animation. It's nothing serious just trying to amuse my young grandaugther.

Daidalos, it helps more than you would imagine, I have animation shop (came bundled with Paint Shop pro) and idiot that I am, I had never used it and didn't realise what it did. Many thanks for your speedy response - off to play now.

Hi, I would also like to say thankyou for creating these videos. I just downloaded the Carrara demo and was seriously struggling with it. Your help in understanding the program is much appreciated. I now have a much better chance of evaluating the software within the 30 day trial period. I am looking to purchase a decent renderer for my Poser content and Carraras extra features seem to make it a good option. Now back to attempting to understand it, only 28 days left, LOL.

Hi Connie - It may be worth downloading the trial version of Everest by Lavalys which allows you to monitor all kinds of internal functions including temperature. It also checks memory for you.

When I create backup DVDs I don't use the zip or exe files. I extract or install the item to an aptly named folder and save those folders to DVD. Inside each folder is the Runtime, Readme and the promo images for that item. Reinstalling to Poser is then simply a matter of opening a folder and dragging the runtime over to my poser external runtime of choice. I have found this to be a fast method.Having the promo images with winxp set to show thumbnails makes it easy to identify what you are looking for.

Don't you normally jump on people asking this type of question? This is a quote from your reply to someone who wanted to sell some weapons. You even shouted the word pay. It seems strange that someone interested in only free items now wants to sell.

Could be temperature related. My old laptop could fry eggs when I was running Poser. Motherboard had to be replaced under warranty as it got fried. The onboard graphics chips don't seem ideal for anything graphically intense.

Slightly off topic but wierd nontheless. Several years ago I tried to join a file sharing site which I found by googling Star Trek episodes. This site was like a tiny version of kzz but everything was split into groups that had only like 100 members. The busiest groups demanded that you share a whopping amount of files but it was measured in mbs not quality. Everyone shared their c  drive, their downloads, their incoming emails etc,etc. As soon as you logged into the site it chose your downloads folder as a default shared folder and checked the size to see which groups you were allowed to join. At this point I was permanently banned for sharing inapropriate material. I was dumbstruck as this site was famous for sharing hard core porn. I managed to send a message to the admins asking what the suspect file was. It was P3DO ! Apparently that is peadophile shorthand. I can't remember the name of the site and I couldn't be bothered to try to clear my name so I never went back.

Don't know if it helps but saving as .png preserves transparency so you don't have to worry about alpha channels. I would render the image without the background and save as .png then render the background and save as whatever you prefer. Mix the 2 in your image editor of choice and you should be able to achieve the results you desire.
