The trouble I'm having with the "point at" function is that the object is pointing on all three axes, whereas I want the object to swivel on just one axis. Here's what I want:
...but when I point the housings at the opposite pistons, I get this.
What I'm looking for is a tecnique for making that housing follow it's respective piston on the Z-axis while keeping it from moving on the X- and Y-axis.

But how about making sky boxes and skydomes with Bryce? I'd love to be able to create a sky in Bryce, map the image to an exportable object and bring it in to render in Poser. Any suggestions?

I've considered game design. I'm just wondering what kinds of software I need to be familiar with to get what jobs, and whether a dedicated hobbyist can parley his skills into a career, or whether I need several more years of specialized training to find work ( at 28 I'm a little long in the tooth).

It seems like a real fuzzy area, doesn't it? On the one hand, I'd feel kind of bad lifting a bone structure that someone else worked so hard to rig, but then rigging one's own bone structure seems like re-inventing the wheel just to arrive at the same endpoint ( I've not done too much rigging of my own, but I assume that after I'm done rigging the bones for, say, a shirt, it'll end up being almost identical to the bone structure for every other shirt made by every other vendor out there).

It's the external names. I type the name of the body part into the Name field, but when I press enter, the name resets to whichever bone is selected.

I'm actually just wondering how Daz's figures stack up against the Poser 6 figures ( James and Jessi, I think). I've got the V3 and M3 base characters, and I know they blow Donand Judy out of the water. I'm just thinking that, depending on how the Poser 6 figures compare to V3/M3, would I rather spend my money on the morph/texture packages for the Daz characters or take that cash and go buy the upgrade to Poser 6 and get James/Jessi included?

V3 and M3 base figures are free, but youve got to shell out more cash for the morphs and textures and such. I'd rather use P5's base figures anyways. And, PhilC; been to the site. Im a big fan.
