It's the bracket looking thing on the side of the Bryce terrain canvas. In Bryce 5 it is hidden so you have to click on the icon on the top of the right corner of the canvas window to get it to show. You just click and drag the top or the bottom of the clipping tool up or down, depending on if you want the top or bottom removed. This is also good to remove the top or bottom from any other tweaking, like adding noise, then unclip to see it again.

As a beta tester for 5 I found that the presets are not always the best for what you are trying for. So, it may be best to check out other tree shapes to see if they are any better for the look you are going for.

As far as improved poser importing....why didn't metacreations do that while they had BOTH programs? But, really, I think 5 will be worth the it. As far as being TOO slow....Bryce is the only TRUE raytracer engine that I know of. Some other programs do a type of 'partial'raytracing to increase render time. Bryce is a total true raytracer and that takes time, that is why Bryce makes better images!!!

As a beta tester I can say secrecy is just good business here. A company doesn't go say their new version will have this and that, then they can't get it to work right so it isn't in the shipping version. What would you think of the company then? Go to www.bryce5.net to wolfie's site and see some of the results for yourself. And no I can't say anymore...

As a beta tester all I am going to say is...it will be well worth it. Actually, they has been NO HYPE to bryce 5 from Corel, only what people are saying what they want. Not everything everyone wants is there, but it will be the best bryce so far. Check out www.bryce5.net for some images, this is Wolfie's site, not an official one.

This was the brainstorm of my good friend and the one that got me into bryce in the first place, Lee Hughey. www.3dhighway.com for his site.

As an official Beta tester I can only say...some of the info presented is wrong. Some of the info is being misinterpretted. I wish I could put it straight to you guys and gals but we are still testing and are shocked about this news getting out like this.
Thread: Vue vs. Bryce | Forum: Vue
Well, I downloaded the free demo and will be trying it out a little. Thanks for the replies. One thing I would like to know is can Vue build complex odjects as with the bryce primatives using boolean? I can already see that the interface is more easier that Bryce. Can Vue do complex interior scenes as well?
