Yeah...I was just looking into my computer stats and see that I have some low end stuff. I may have to just see what a few upgrades can do.
What would you say is best to upgrade for the purpose of a faster render? Would it be RAM or something?

And this one has the same settings except the tone mapping is set to HSV Exponential.
Now one other thing I would like to ask about is that when I export this image it looks the same as the other. But in the poser window it looks like this (this is a screen shot). So I am also wondering why that is?

Hi
You never use envsphere with equirectangular picture ? You can found thousands environment here https://www.flickr.com/groups/equirectangular/pool/
This is actually what I needed. But the photos at the flickr link you gave are too small it seems. They end up all pixilated on the render. I tried the hdr image in the instructions on how to use the env sphere and it came out great (you know the whole lake scene). But if I need to get other equirectangular pictures, what size should they be? Also, am I missing something about how to find good images on flicker for it?

When you say you're looking for something "a little different', I think you need to be more specific. How different?
Most of us an environment sphere with equirectangular images, as noted. Over at Daz, Flipmode has made a Skybox that is itself rectangular, but functions like a sphere.
Or are you talking about the terrain -- the thing people actually stand on?
Edit: Or are you talking about using actual PROPS to simulate a horizon, such as hills and mountains?
If it's the last one, there are some potential pitfalls, as the scaling will be off. For example, I once made a very lovely scene with gorgeous, realistic looking mountains on the horizon. It looked great. Until I put some buildings in and rendered, and realized that my buildings were casting shadows on my mountains. LOLOL.
Hence the environment sphere, because you avoid such issues.
Well, to be honest I am able to make the spot the figure stands on. But I am not quite sure how to get it to fade into the background in a way that makes it look natural.

Have you morphed the figure? Depending on your version of Poser, you may need to go to the Body actor of his manliness and under Properties, make sure that Include Morphs and Include Scales are checked...
I just took a look and they were not checked. But when I checked them and conformed it again the morphs I made to the m4 body did not transfer over. Here is a question...I don't remember if I had to activate the morph++ on the genitals like I had to do for the base of m4. do you have to do that? Maybe the morphs are just not there for it if I never set it up?

The ambient channel is active for the genitals and it is not so for the torso texture. I am willing to bet that the ambient chip is a deep red. I would change the genital PoserSurface node to match the torso. That may fix your problem.
Yep, that took care of the texture problem. Thanks. I am going to have to try and figure out the problem with the morph dethatch issue now.

Well, I don't know if it is a conforming issue actually now. Though I am sure as I continue to work with this it may still be a problem. I started fresh with just the base and no morphs. I applied the m4 mat files to the hip and to the gens. I also conformed the genital figure to the m4 figure. After doing a render this is what it looks like. It isn't floating anymore (though I think it may after I apply any morphs to the m4 figure). But the color isn't right. As you can see it turns a shade of red. Here are some screen shots of the advanced tab and the render. Oh, I am using poser 8 with firefly render at next to top quality rendering.

Quote - whats your uv map like??
Just curious, since other materials work on it, why would it be a problem with the mesh? I will have to take a look again at the map, but I am just wondering why some would work while others don't?

Thanks for trying. I gave it a shot but it is still doing the same thing. Here is all the tabs open. I hope you guys can figure it all out. There is too much math for my mind.

Quote - A long time ago I experienced the same problem with the wood shader.
I discovered one of the nodes had an unfortunate value in one of its inputs which caused this. Replacing the offending value with a more sensible solved the problem. When I get home (tomorrow) I'll see if I can remember what I had to change.
I hope you can remember what it was. Thanks.

It is a firefly render. Here is the advanced tab. I have poser 8 and what I used was found under real shaders > woods > Stained Red Wood.
The mesh was made in wings3d, but I know it is fine since I tried to apply a different material to it and it works fine. It seems to be just this one. I have tried it on other models too and the same thing happens.
