I think merren covered it quite well. The only thing I will add is that version 2.03b2 seems to me to be the most stable and fastest version.

Thread: Help with FE images, please! | Forum: Fractals
As a general rule: render as large as you can in FE using 4-point AA - to get rid of as much jaggedness as possible - then save the reult as a BMP file to retain the full amount of data in the picture. Open the picture in your favorite graphics program and there resize it to whatever size you wish - this will give you additional "anti-jaggedness". If your render-size is reasonably big then you can even raise the resolution (dpi) to f.ex. 200 or 300 while downsizing, for better reults when printing - if that's something you do. Finally, in your graphics program, use the sharpening tool to enhance the features of the picture. Then save it as .jpg (don't go below 85-90% quality for jpgs...) or .bmp, depending on what you want to do with it.
By "large" I mean really large. If you want your end product in the order of f.ex. 800 x 600, then you should render it first at a size of at least 3,200 x 2,400 pixels or bigger. This will of course increase the render time considerably since the render-process in FE makes calculations for each individual pixel in the picture. Find a good balance between size and render-time.
The render process can be done in the background using the batch-render option. It'll take a little longer this way, but if f.ex. you are using a system with more than 1 processor core then you will be able to use the machine for other purposes while the batch-processing is going on.

I tried logging out and wanted to log back in as you described clicking the appropriate link at the top-right - what I got was the main page, and at the top it read that I was logged in... without me entering anything.
I then logged out again and emptied the cache. When I then clicked the login link top-right I was presented with the login page requiring me to enter user/password. So I think you'll be fine once you empty the cache. Perhaps try first to clean out just the cookies and see how that works.

Log out of the site. Then open 'tools -> internet options' in Internet Explorer, and in the middle section of the 'general' tab ("temporary internet files") click 'delete files' (incl. offline content) and 'delete cookies'. Go to the logon page again and log in - this ought to do the trick.

12,000 x 12,000 in FE - took almost 80 hours. Normally I render at 12,000 x 9,000 and 10-20 hours isn't unusual.
Thread: They're heeeeeeeeeeeeeere! | Forum: Fractals
I've counted that the address to my own gallery has changed (ie. switched server) 3 times over the past day... little point in bookmarking anything under such conditions...
Converting dynamic data (= data exposed to change... uploads, posts, counts, views ect...) in a running system is a very(!) bad idea and doomed to fail... Why they could even think of doing that is beyond me. No wonder they loose things...

The mouse over the thumb tip is good... that'll do. As for the missing notification - yes, I miss that too... Otherwise you randomly check your posts at random intervals...

Urgh... the picture shown when you click a thumb is not the full-sized image, but a down-sized and thus distorted image that shows a lot of jaggedness... sort of another thumb, although larger. Only an additional click will bring up the full-sized picture without any non-intended distortion. That's a lot of clicking....

Thread: Comments on the gallery page | Forum: Fractals
Seems the views/comments count under the thumb is being replaced by the pretty useless information how long time ago the pic was uploaded (the artist knows, the viewer probably doesn't care), and the more useable view/comment count is being moved to the full-scale version page of the pic.
Not exactly what I'd call a clever decision. So f.ex. if you want to see how many views your pics have gotten at some point, you have to browse each and every single pic in turn to get this trivial info... I'd say that sucks big-time... and is certainly not a feasable step towards speeding up response time of the galleries if people start doing this on any kind of scale...

Thread: RGB To CMYK: HOW?? | Forum: Fractals
I guess it may depend on the version of PS you have, but try 'Image -> Mode -> CMYK color' to convert the image, if available in your version. Then save it as tiff.
