Carrara 8 Pro Mac is a disaster, save your money! I've wasted 3 days of my life on this thing, grrr. Where do I ask for my money back!

I sure hope they release a Render fix for this separate process problem, but as Poser don't actually code the Render I guess we have to wait for the other guys to get this bug in the render fixed.

 I vote for finding a different hair, one thats a prop type not the Poser Hair.

"or donate them to schools" Noooo, don't give our children the junk of the past. Computers in schools should be the very best, especially for the youngest students. And renewed regularly, they need the very best tools, both for learning and to develop high order thinking skills, aging PCs don't deliver those. Our schools are the most important places on earth, the hope of the future is in our children and we must give them every advantage we can.

While it's a good idea to send the RTeJava encoder, I'm not sure it's the same version works on both Mac and PC. If it is then no problem otherwise it could just add to the confusion. And yes .exe's don't work on the Mac, it's very frustration knowing we can use all the files within the .exe but can't get them out.

I'm not sure what you mean by encode the zip file, I thought RTeJava worked with the .obj files??? I agree, there is now no source file differences between Poser OS X and Windows. I would suggest that if you're using RTE make a few things very clear. 1. That an additional Software download is required to decode the files. 2. Where to get that Software from, an http:// 3. Where to find those required OBJ files and how to extract them if they're obz's. 4. Where to place the completed files. The first time I encounter RTE it took me weeks to sort out, especially as the content provider just didn't know or care, because I was using a Mac.

HAWK999: Sorry, I'm not sure what you're meaning. Did you find P7 slower on a G4 than P6 is and revert back to P6?

I would point out that the GB setting are just presets and you can go in and alter the parameters. For vocal work the human ear is very sensitive, if you need a female voice, get a female to do the voice track you can't beat the real thing.

Poser 7 on the Mac is a LOT better than P6!!! both G5 and Intel. I gave up using P6 it was so not fun, but P7 has made the whole thing lots of fun again. Logic Express, is excellent. I have GB and all the loop additions, Logic lets you use all those AND adds the Logic extras. It's a learning curve but the sound modules and the effects are far more customizable. Having both, I couldn't just say get one or the other, I decided get both! Cheers

Most modern monitors are now 92 dpi and this will continue to vary upwards as monitors become better. Some hand held devices already boast 160 dpi and we may see that in monitors some day.

I think you went the wrong way around, 1. Backup your Poser 6 Runtime. So you have a copy to restore to if something goes wrong. 2. Copy your Poser 7 Runtime into your Poser 6 Runtime. On the Mac ditto it in. This will overwrite all the old Poser 6 Runtime Files with the new updated Poser 7 Files if they have the same name. 3. Rename Poser 7 Runtime, something like Runtime7Fresh. So you have a copy to restore to if something goes wrong. 4, Rename the merged Poser 6/7 Runtime to Runtime. This worked for me.

Yes, I contacted Robert and he's got the smaller of the 2 working Mac versions, so he's tidying up a few pesky issues and forwarding it to Luft for distribution. If it's not in the current download then email Robert, I'm sure he could do with some more testers:-) Cheers Kaveman
