dyret has a good point. I've found a lot of the "genesis" skins out there are actually using the V4 texture mapping scheme, so when you initially apply the texture if it does not look correct(for example the lips are misplaced) it may be because of this.

When I use genesis I tend to do the textures via the smart content tab, some people hate smart content, but I do use it for genesis textures. I still select posing the old way, but thats largely because a lot of my poses are older files with no meta data.

You can still apply textures the old way too, just make sure they are installed in the right folder, I've found a lot of freebies with crazy folder structures.

Can I ask which one you are trying? And did the default textures load ok for you?

anyone try the instancing stuff? I tried it and I ran into some issues. If I deleted the instance node the instances remained. Anyone know of the right way to get rid of them?

I made a few instances of hitomi and things started to slow down so when I tried to delete them. After the instance node itself is gone you can actually select the instances directly to try and delete that way.

I don't think anyone is trying to protect anyone from anything, I think that people have put out reasonable and logical explainations for things mentioned in the OP. However that isn't enough for everybody so the conversation started going in circles.

Because of this some people decided to lighten the mood. I don't see any bullying going on, but I do sense that some may be taking things more seriously then they are.

This isn't Daz's offical forum so I really don't see why comments need to be limited to staff, some of the most relevent and insightful posts came from regular joes.

I recieved order confirmations for my two purchases. Kinda slow processing on the order submit page but other than that it's been fine. Not a fan of how I can't see Aiden's texture under smart content materials though, you have to go under character which makes him lonely. Everone else's textures show under materials.

I ran 4.5 on two instances for about an hour with no problems. Not complex scenes but I never do that on my laptop anyway, I know it would chugg at that point. Autofit keeping morphs saves me a few steps, but I forgot to test out any of the other features. Will try that today at lunch.

Keeping 4.5 off my main computer until its out of beta though just in case.
