Usually faulty lighting is a way to expose a fraudulent pic - ie different elements in the pic a lit from different angles which suggest a cut and paste job.

Get a good manual from a bookstore (there are plenty, so choose carefully) - I find it's much easier to follow instructions when you're holding them in your hand rather than flipping from screen to screen.

oh sorry- wasn't paying attention. The finish is was caused the problem.....disregard my above post. Well, this is a tough one, I think, due to the depth of the pattern and the fact that it covers the whole pic...have you tried duplicating the layer, adding smart blur followed by gaussian blur, then reducing the opacity to say 50%???

If you still have the pic you should scan it again at a different resolution/scale - that usually works for me when this happens.

Thread: painting eye lashes on photos | Forum: Photoshop
-->create a new layer. -->Draw a very fine dark line around the rim of the eye where you want the lashes, then draw another fine line in a lighter color directly above the first line so that they are overlapping. ->Use the smudge tool set with a very small brush to smudge in precise, quick strokes in the direction you want the lashes. Using two colors will give a realistic natural look to the eyelashes as opposed to just plain black.

Thanks, guys, guess I was just having a moment of panic. I'm currently working under my custom Adobe Monitor Profile. Retro: yeah I notice that the difference between Mac an PC is pretty horrible, a little consensus wouldn't go astray there.

Isn't posting your image in the relevent software forum already the place to get an honest critique?

...and don't forget the more fonts you have in the fonts folder the longer PS will take to load... it's an annoying problem if you're running on an old sloth like mine :)
