The Genesis figures work fine and have very natural shapes in Poser and there is more and more content coming out. Try them yourself and you'll see. They bend and take posing very smoothly.

I guess the way you rotated he hole answers the question about the modifing the direction of the light hot spots.
Thread: Hi, I'm new here | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
OK, makes sense that a proper HDRI has a hot spot or spots that gives an appropriate shadow. It has to be slightly harder to get that light to point in the direction you may want then when using a spot or Infinite light. IE suppose you want the light from the front upper right to create a shadow on the floor at some angle. I guess you have to rotate the HDRI in the sphere to get the light coming in the way you want. That could be a little confusing and difficult to see in the preview. Is there a technique for this?
Can you control the sharpness of the shadow with a HDRI or is that not an issue?

I hate to jump in, but I have simple question. Don't you need some sort of specific light source (like the sun or a spot light) to get correct shadows? Even if the source is a light emitter (or several)? Does just the environment sphere create shadows even though the light comes from everywhere? Does the HDRi create shadows from the light parts of the image?

Thread: Are there ezskin configurations for Genesis and Genesis 2? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ok thanks that worked perfectly. I had to change the
[OBJLOOKUP]
GenesisFemale{44429336-2748-372d-7dce-acb9680bff93}.obj = DAZ Genesis2Female,
to the obj that was in my mylibrary for the genesis 2 figure. The numbers in the brackets were different in my computer, but otherwise it worked great.

OK, i followed your instructions and it worked. I added genesis.obj and geometry{348f6408-a456-b20e-4d5b-849b06ee0130}.obj, which is what appeared deep in the mylibrary folder when I searched for the genesis obj in the genesis folder. I don't know which one worked, but now its working.
I wish it was that easy to add genesis 2, but I don't know the genesis 2 structure.
Thanks,
Mike
Thread: Feature requests for Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
My two big requests are
1: being able to use the arrows on the keyboard to change numbers in the dialog boxes, like photoshop or Vue. and shift arrow would be by 10's
A real collision detection system in a single frame, that would prevent body parts from going through the rest of the body in unusual poses. It would prevent hands from going through thighs or arms going through the stomach, Or prevent hair going through shoulders or faces when you pose the character, etc. Even better, objects going through bodies, unless you wanted that to happen.
Oops one more...a better grouping system. IE...create a box around objects with the mouse and create a group. Or cntr click different objects to create a group, like most other programs do it. The way poser does it is very confusing and awkward and non-standard.

I had this problem and unchecked the separate process button. For some reason that turned on the separate processes. Can't explain why.
Worth a try...

This is amazing. I downloaded the file and I see how it's done, but who would think to use Excel to do it.

Thread: Is there a EZSkin2 tutorial? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Not that it matters, but I really don't see it in the manual. However there sure are a lot of options to experiment with.

Ok Snarly thanks for the clarification. I didn't know it affected the maths. I tried different settings and didn't notice any difference, so the effect must be subtle...I'll look closer next time. :)
Would I like a way to use the colors as a material color? Might be a fun thing to experiment with as a way to change a characters complexion. It does have a noticeable effect when you change those settings with "use material color" enabled. If they're feeling sick you could even use the apple option and get a green tint

I don't understand. I changed the material option in ezskin and looked at the both scatter nodes and the check box "use_material _color" is not checked. So what ever change you make to the option in ezskin changes the material, but if the box is not checked it doesn't matter, the material color is not used.
Where is the option in ezskin to put a check in that box?

Thread: Does anyone know who is the character in the knothair promo's? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You're right, there's a clear evolution. Interesting. I like the model too and she also has a unique look and texture and not so typically "vixenish" like so many characters.
