Subject: Are there ezskin configurations for Genesis and Genesis 2?

mikegg ( ) posted Fri, 07 February 2014 at 12:12 AM · edited Mon, 10 February 2025 at 3:28 AM

I searched the forum but I didn't find anything. Are there ezskin cfg files for Genesis and Genesis 2?

I don't know about Genesis 2. I'm not a Genesis user and Genesis 1 was the only version around when EZSkin was last updated.

Genesis 1 is supported as its material zones were compatible with DAZ Generation 4 figures.

The problem was getting EZSkin to recognise Genesis as a supported figure because the OBJ file name of an imported G1 figure was different every time, and it is the OBJ filename which EZSkin uses to identify the figure. So what you have to do is enter something in the 'Genesis prefix' box - EZSkin will treat all figures whose OBJ filename begins with the characters in the box aas a Genesis figure, and then use the DAZ Gen 4 figure defintion on it. At the time of writing EZSkin, I believe the OBJ of all imported Genesis figures began with 'genesis', so that is what you would enter in the box. It may have changed, I suppose.

If anyone would like to help me add Genesis 2 to EZSkin, I'd be happy to do so. Just get in touch via sitemail (or in this thread).

OK, i followed your instructions and it worked. I added genesis.obj and geometry{348f6408-a456-b20e-4d5b-849b06ee0130}.obj, which is what appeared deep in the mylibrary folder when I searched for the genesis obj in the genesis folder. I don't know which one worked, but now its working.

I wish it was that easy to add genesis 2, but I don't know the genesis 2 structure.

Thanks,

Mike

For Genesis2 from Tigerschnecke on the Daz forums:

[OBJLOOKUP]
GenesisFemale{44429336-2748-372d-7dce-acb9680bff93}.obj = DAZ Genesis2Female

[DAZ Genesis2Female]
Head = skin
Legs = skin
Fingernails = nails
Eyelashes = eyelash
Face = skin
Feet = skin
Sclera = sclera
Tongue = tongue
Hips = skin
Preview = ignore
Hands = skin
Gums = gums
Ears = skin
Shoulders = skin
Forearms = skin
Nipples = skin
Neck = skin
Irises = iris
Lips = lips
Torso = skin
EyeReflection = eyetrans
Nostrils = nostrils
Tear = tear
Toenails = nails
Pupils = pupil
invisible = ignore
InnerMouth = innermouth
Cornea = cornea
Teeth = teeth
Lacrimal = lacrimal

Add that to a .cfg and then run the .cfg through the EzSkin figure import.

Ok thanks that worked perfectly. I had to change the

[OBJLOOKUP]
GenesisFemale{44429336-2748-372d-7dce-acb9680bff93}.obj = DAZ Genesis2Female,

to the obj that was in my mylibrary for the genesis 2 figure. The numbers in the brackets were different in my computer, but otherwise it worked great.

Glad it worked. The numbers happened to be the same for me. I'm not sure what circumstances make them change.

Does this cfg work for Genesis (the original Genesis that is)?
