Thread: Python 2 to Python 3 | Forum: Poser 12
Thank you!! That helps!
I haven't invested in Poser 12 yet because I need those two things badly for projects I'm working on, and I've come to rely very badly upon the library of scripts I've gotten over the years for everything else. Without having -at least- selective item/layer render passes, magnet toy, morph imp, and GS2/3/8 imports (as well as heaven knows how many mini-pythons included with other products), I'd essentially be paying for a downgrade as far as my personal workflow goes. :( I'm especially concerned, and looking forward to hearing more, about cross-compatibility with these older scripts or surrogate support for those python utilities originating from content creators that have retired from the 3D marketplace.

Is there any news on whether Semidieu's scripts (esp Advanced Render Settings 2) or the DSON importer will work in Poser 12? (So glad to hear Netherworks is on the job!)

I almost completely missed it since my email natively blocks images. :(

Modo does this and I -love- it. We can select favorites for each "room" and then choose to show all tabs or simply favorites. Makes life so much easier. Having this in Poser would be a huge plus.

Honestly? It should be just a matter of going into Preferences and ticking room tabs on and off.
It's really annoying to me when I accidentaly click Face Room or Hair room when I'm trying to get into the others cause I never use those two... but I don't think it should be removed from the program. Make it user-friendly, give us an option "show Face Room" "Show Hair Room". And all the others too, because some people simply don't do content creation at all and all they need is the Pose room.

That's a blessing, at least. With software changing hands, it's always hard to tell what sort of changes there will be! (We need a way to upvote posts!)

Uhm. Wow. Ok. This thread is a bit scary. I mainly skimmed and my eyes still hurt. LOL!
Is there anywhere we can sign up for newsletter notices on updates as we move forward with new progress in the Poserverse? Such as a development blog? I do subscribe to Renderosity's newsletters but I'm in particular interested in the tech side of Poser development. (I saw the link with the news article that has informative comments, thank you for posting that Deecy!, but was looking for something to subscribe to for the future, too.)
Also, could we have some sort of Meet&Greet for the current Poser team, when they are better settled from all of the ongoing turmoil, and if they feel comfortable to do so? I admit I am a bit out of touch with who works with what anymore, and hope to see some familiar faces.

A couple of things from me, if it's ok?
Also my vote is with Davo, please don't remove the Firefly or NPR features. There is a place for them. Actually all of their suggestions were really good ones.

Oh, gawd, Teyon.
"So yeah, you get a few extra polys to compensate for the unknown. It's not like those polys are going to snuff your children in their sleep or anything. They're there for folks who need them. If you don't need them, don't use 'em."
You almost made rootbeer come out of my nose!
Netherworks brings up a VERY good point, too. Poser comes with sculpting tools these days that lets you change the shape however you want it, without even spending a dime on another piece of software. As long as the mesh is dense enough to support it, there's absolutely no reason why a shape can't be adjusted to suit whatever purpose or project you're working on.
Speaking as someone who has modeled her share of low-poly figures and worked steadily with high-poly figures: I love Michelle's topology. She saves fast, she runs fast, I can load several of her in a scene to one V4 (especially when clothing comes into play), yet she's got enough polys and loops so that I can adjust her shape to suit whatever I need, and she's already got one major morph expansion on top of the already generous out-of-the-box morph selection. In time, we'll see only more fantastic expansions. Would that -more- figures were like her! She's so much more useful and versatile than anything I could've made, that's for sure!

OMG! Thank you guys!!!
I'm so glad you liked "It Will Work!" It was one of the first images I really started to delve into Depth of Field with, and I spent a long, long time on getting it to look even halfway good. Seeing y'all liked it is such a relief. It makes it seem like I'm actually learning something, which is an awesome feeling to have! Thank you!
