Hi Good Doctor Tank you and welcome back ! I'm mostly a lurker here, somewhat shy... Before you "left", I knew you were a good bloke, I could tell by the tone of your posts...the humor were their best quality... As hard as I could I tried to follow your tutes, and always, always, fun is the key to learn well (but I don't learn as fast as I want, I'm quite impatient...) I'm so glad you're back, like the rest of the class ! Thank you ! (Sometimes, the GOOD win ! And not only in movies...Yaaaayyyyy !) PH
Thread: OT: For those who have culture: Roman or Greek mythology question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thank you much to all who answered...even those who humourously provided off off topic questions and answers (was'n't it John Lennon or Eric Clapton ?) But pu-lease...this was not a trivia question and was not aimed at ridiculing anybody but myself (obviously), since I have those nasty memory blocks about thing I know I know...I was left speechless when I had this argument trying to demonstrate the symbolism of an actual situation, and refering to this Pygmalion/Galatea thing (without ever recalling), I could not easily demonstrate my point. Not easy to be 40 sometimes... PH
Thread: Maconverter for OS X ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thank you all, especially to the person who posted the link... Decision made: i keep a Mac OS9 partition (...silly as it might seem, I prefer to keep things separated). As for the separate new drive, I now am really itching for it (as for a DVD reader/writer), but even at nowadays' low prices, those new toys are way beyond our (me and my lover's) means. The eMac my lover and I are sharing now was given to us by a wealthy friend of ours who was scared to hear we were merely contemplating the possibility to use PC's because they were cheaper than the new mac Machines and ran faster than what we had then: a 6200. But we don't know, maybe this wil happen sooner than we think... Thanks again to all. PH

To doca: Most of the time, when I'm in public, I wouldn't care about a camera pointed at me and shots taken of me. But it's just me. I would care more about "how do I look, is my hair right, is it good enough ?" than about the invasion of my privacy per se. I've got nothing to hide, hence I'm not scared to be captured on a picture (other than for my "amour-propre", wich is not much). It's getting clear to me that there is nothing wrong here, though I feel I must not abuse taking pictures in touchy situations when the people are really conscious of the fact and they overtly refuse to be photographed (or to be precise, in the case of a digital camera, "captured") To fictitious: I've taken a few good shots at the Tams last sunday (19-05), and I intend to go back the next beautiful sunday (also, to the Old Port and Old Montreal vicinity) looking for scenes, still. Thanks a lot to both of you. PH
Thread: His Eyes Feel Pain, what to do with pic? | Forum: Photography
I prefer the second one. Strenght, pride, intelligence and doubt. the future is somewhat hazy. And, even if you did not mention it, we feel that something terrible is happening. Black and white delivers more meaning (less is more) than color in that case. Lights have a "Karsh" quality I like, as in the Hemingway portrait (...maybe softer). As for your real worries, I sympathize a lot. Hang on. PH

Once a week. Too much stuff looking the same. Artistic whim MUST BE limited. "L'art vit de contraintes mais meurt de trop de libert (I loosely translate: art lives in constraints, but dies of too much freedom) The real original pics don't show up as often (they need more work, don't they ?) as the standard silicone-boobed-staring-vacantly-vicky-pinup. Or the deformed-photo-photoshop-filter-test-copyright-infringement-but-it-was-a-paintshop-tube-dontcha-know. Not to mention the fractals gallery (my opinion). Not that I don't like pinups (mind you, I love looking at nude women everytime I can), but I also like to look at a good surreal image too. My -ahem- humble opinion. PH
Thread: I've done something today I have not done in years because of Poser!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Some people here I've seen in mass transit, be it the metro or the bus have been looking (in the real life) like a crazy modeler's bad temper, like someone fooling around with the dials with the intent of making a person REALLY ugly (like, a guy with almost NO chin...that other one with those really flabby ears...the old man with that massive nose, and topping it, a big purple dimple...) Strange those were all men. Can't resist looking around, and some looks I got signaled me to get my stare back in the proper zone... PH
Thread: What can EveV2 wear? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Aduino's Evev definitely wears P4NW clothes. But be aware of the tweaking you are going to have to do. Traveler's Eve 4 (not available anymore on Morph world) had instructions as to what to do to convert P4 clothes so they should fit on Eve4. It was an easy hack (with step by step instructions as to how to do it), a couple of steps into Poser to create the rsr's, and voil a wardrobe for Eve 4 (Traveler had converted most of the P4 clothes...) Hope it helps. PH
Thread: PC/Mac? Quick question... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Macs are attractive, but then... You get working faster with them (assuming you know how to handle the sofware you put in, and have a plan as to where to get from here). The OS comes with the machine. Less hardware conflicts. They are not AS crash-prone than a PC (mostly on OSX, though...) You don't get to see as much crap and pop-ups as you are navigating on the Internet (assuming, of course, you are not looking for crap while you navigate !) SOME pc's MIGHT be decent machines (most of the times you need some technical savvy to custom build your machine); MOST of the macs truly are GOOD machines. PH (having his feet in both worlds)

I hate to disrupt, I'm not in a denying phase, I'm 40 and I still don't need glasses. Good eyesight since birth, wishing it to go well beyond the "normal" eyesight problem age. But, yes, the computer monitor gives a lot of fatigue in the long run to the eyes... But I must empathize with all you people having to wear glasses... PH

What about negative frowning ? (Values of the frown dial in the negative, but really under 1.0) Also, yes, when you smile, the eyes do it too (look at most fashion magazine models pose: you will notice some of these smiling poses to be really fake, since the eyes don't follow, if you put on something to hide the mouth...) But I'm not an expert, it's just a tought from someone wh just manages to fiddle a bit with this program... PH

Thread: Not-so-beautiful persons | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thank you all, really ! I said "ugly" in opposition to "very beautiful" or "supermodel"...I did not mean ugly in the sense of looking at the person and going away terrified...I should have said "ordinary"... To buy anything related to Poser is out of question now (did not I mention I was a massage therapist ? I got to eat and pay the rent first... :-)) )...sorry for those who put forth the easy "buy it !" fix... Amazing, the warmth of your answers, given the fact that I answered some little questions expecting to be hit hard by those die hard "NVIAT" fans... Magnets, I will surely give a try sometimes when the case asks for (angst, angst...is there any sure way to CONTROL those #%#@&?%* things)... Texture maps seem another effective way to achieve some results... I'll get out the models out of the moth balls to play and tweak them a little... Again, thank you for your time and effort answering. PurpleHayes
