It turns out that the file type on these pose files is set to "wearable" and not "preset_pose". If this is changed (using Notepad or similar text editor) then the poses can be made to work. I have advised the vendor accordingly.

Thanks - checked that I was selecting the figure before trying to apply the pose and re-downloaded and re-installed the files but still no dice...

Thread: Why is my wishlist item not in the End of Year Wishlist sale? | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Well, that's odd. Going back to my wishlist now and it now appears to include the discount. It didn't before (honest, I'm not going mad!) Looks as though I can go ahead and buy
Thread: Joint Editor Weirdness? Help! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Considering that the issue occurs only along the centre line between left and right halves, however, I've tweaked the original model to remove that line and re-imported and rigged the figure and - hey presto - the issue no longer occurs (see new image).
As it doesn't happen with capsule zones when a centre line exists, or not with spherical zones when no centre line exists this seems to suggest a problem with spherical zones used in conjunction with vertices that sit on this 'join'.
Thread: Joint Editor Weirdness? Help! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I should add that it only appears to do this on the vertices that sit along the centre line between left and right halves of the geometry. I've double-checked the orginal model for duplicates and unwelded items but this doesn't seem to be the cause.
Thread: Who keeps moving my bones...? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Rokket - thanks. Following your suggestion I think I've traced the problem through and think it arose from not saving the work in progress properly.
SamTherapy - thanks. A couple of models that I made a number of years ago. They have been known to invade my runtime evey now and then...

It's only for stills. You say it won't be a problem but surely if the bones move then the joints are also affected somehow?

Personally, I can live with some of the stylistic changes - but the r-e-a-l-l-y s-l-o-w page load times are getting to be a real pain. Seriously guys, you gotta get this fixed.l
Thread: EZSkin 2 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just to confirm, I have PP2012 with SP 3 installed and EZSkin 2 and EZSkin 2 works fine, no problems.
Thread: How tall is Victoria 4 in Poser 2012? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I was curious as to how much reliance I could put on the ruler props I had and, using JoePublic's method (neat!) the answer would appear that they are both inaccurate in P2012 (although Dr Geep's is closest).
By taking a cube primitive, moving it on the y axis 1 unit (I am using feet as the measurement in Poser settings here) and then scaling a second cube primitive accordingly I discover that 1 foot / 12 inches requires that second cube to be 116.8% on the Y scale.
Now placing a cube against V4.2 at 100% and stretching the y-scale on the cube until it bi-sects the top of her head I get a y-scale of 734.4%. In my picture I've reduced the x-scale of both cubes also, but you get the idea.
Now, by my reckoning, if 12 inches = 116.8, then 1 inch = 9.73, so I can calculate what 734.4 equates to in inches.
This comes out with a height of just over 6 feet and 3 inches (just under 6'3 1/2"). Now, I'm not foolish enough to claim that this is a definitive answer, but it's useful to know as a starting point for relative sizes.
I could, of course, now measure things more accurately, using Joe's method, and scale my ruler props accordingly...
(stands back to observe the debate further...)
Thread: PP 2012 or DAZ Studio 4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
For what it's worth, I started out with Poser a number of years back (version 2 I think was the first I used) but when DAZ Studio got its act together with DS3 I was tempted away to Studio by the bright lights...
Studio's interface does appear better than Poser's, IMHO, and I've had some fun with Studio BUT I've recently come back to Poser and (for the time being) ditched DAZ for the following reasons:
the quality of rendering in Poser2012 is so much better I think, if you use the EZSkin scripts, etc. Yes, you could use Luxrender but, as has been pointed out, it is so slow and, as a balance on speed and quality Poser wins out over DAZ every time in the rendering stakes.
Poser is more flexible in what you can do with textures and materials in the Materials room.
Dynamics are better in Poser and not dependent on the Optitex system used in Studio where you are largely dependent on others making dynamic clothes for you.
Poser is, I think, a more reliably supported product: for ages Studio didn't have dynamics, then it was (and still is) largely figure dependent; although Genesis is undoubtedly a great figure there are serious problems with converting footwear from earlier versions, etc.
Although the DAZ people and the forums are responsive - in my previous experience, as good as anything here at Rendo, I was really hacked off by what they did with the new web-site.
So, on balance for me, it's Poser that wins out. But as others have said, give both a try and see what works best for you.
Thread: EZSkin 'You have selected an unsupported figure' message | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Sorry - should have been clearer in my explanation: I'm creating a character by dialling the standard V4 and using the standard morph packages, so no geometry other than what's already there is being used.
I've just re-created the figure in a slightly different order (applying the texture then running the EZSkin script before dialling the changes and adding hair) and this time there is no problem.
Is there something about the order in which you do things that makes a difference here?

Aha!
Most excellent, thank you aRtBee.
Followed your advice and job done. Useful for future reference.
