Is issue 100 January 2008 or February 2008? The 3dWorld site does not list issue numbers.

Poser Myth: That you'll grow hair on the palms of your hands from all of those NVITWAS pictures in the gallery. ;-) Not to mention what else will grow from using Poser...
Thread: New Features for Poser 20? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I take it that no one here either owns or has tried MotionBuilder. It's my app of choice for character animation. It has real-time animation built-in. It takes some doing to get a figure from Poser into MB and then into C4D or Maya for final rendering but it's worth it. I don't have Poser 7 and have no intention of buying it. P5 works fine for me. Here's my pipeline: Poser export obj C4D import obj, then export to fbx MotionBuilder import fbx, add animation, export fbx Final render C4D import fbx or Maya import fbx

But it isn't "Ruby Tuesday" yet - remember, that was the previous release date under Cooper's reign. Anyways, today (December 7) is the 65th aniversay of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, a day that will live in infamy. I seriously doubt DAZ would be so gauche as to pull that on this date.

e-frontier (and previous-owner CuriousLabs) can do you-know-what with their characters' alliterative names. Personally, I'm waiting for the Fred and Ethel version...

Thread: Poser 6 to MAYA 7? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Don't bother with the plug-ins - besides the fact that they're buggy, limited, and expensive (even though Trinity is free). Export your Poser character in the traditional T-stance, then import into Maya. In Maya apply a skeletal/bone system. Since you're using v7 turn on the new FK/IK system (brought over from MotionBuilder - which is my all-time favorite posing/animation app!). Poser, keyframe, and render to your little heart's content!
Thread: C5.1 loading time | Forum: Carrara
Found out how on my own, so I thought I'd share it. However, this procedure only applies to Macintosh owners. Final loading time: 5 seconds. To decrease the application bloat, and thus decrease the application load time, you need to have admin rights. Navigate to the Carrara 5 Pro folder, right-click on the Carrara 5 Pro application and choose Show Contents. In the Contents window, expand the MacOS folder. Move (don't delete!) the Presets and Scenes folder out of the MacOS folder to another location out of the main Contents folder. Ta-da - instant application loading time! If you want the pre-built scenes, shaders, objects, etc., don't perform these steps. You can gradually add back items you use on a regular basis, like the shaders or the plants or the pre-built aircraft models. Just be sure that you do not rename the presets folder or the subfolders and add only what you want to these folders.
Thread: Manga Studio released..... but what does it do for Poser users? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Every image on e-frontier's site is in B/W or greyscale. Many of the images, even from different artists, also have the same font type. Are the fonts limited or can the program access the system fonts? I'd probably think about getting the demo if output was in color. But B/W reminds me too much of Sin City and old 30's-40's flicks. scara
Thread: How to upgrade Mover 5 with Easel | Forum: Vue
Well, the Mover 5 CD on has installations for Vue 4 and Vue 4 Pro. I bought it about a year ago, probably when Easel was either still in alpha or beta-testing stage. You mean to say that there are patches for Mover 5 on e-on's site? I'd like to animate objects in Easel that export obj files and import Poser 6 animated characters. -scara
Thread: Daz figures Going FBX!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Attached Link: http://www.alias.com/glb/eng/community/downloads.jsp
Alias brought out this FBX converter about a year ago for Windoze, Linux and Mac. It is a standalone product that does not need anything else on your harddrive (like the presence of LW, Maya, XSI, etc.). You must register for a Bronze-level membership. Alias will not spam you with unwanted email. The FBX converter is free. There are also plugins available for LW, 3DS Max, Maya, XSI, and QuickTime. Go now. -scaraThread: Poser 7 new features | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
How about a total, ground-up rewrite of bug-free code? Poser 10 (X)? Poser 20 (XX)? Or do I have to wait until Poser 30 (XXX)? However, I'm still waiting for a version with the instant NVIAT button. -scara
Thread: The Mac problem | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I do not mean to make light of your situation, but P6 works fine on 10.3.9. A little slow perhaps, compared to P5, but no crashes. I have no interest at all in upgrading to Tiger, since my main 2 apps, Maya Unlimited and MotionBuilder, won't work at all under 10.4.x. -scara

Of course America owns the Internet. Don't all of you remember ex VP Al Gore stating that he "invented the Internet"? At least I got in before this thread's locked... -scara
