What about individuals who have entered the contest with artwork that has already been posted somewhere else....????
Do not the rules strictly state that the artwork must "NOT" have been posted anywhere previously?

James

Valid point j_g....however you stated... As a programmer who is quite familiar with what can be done via ActiveX (I've just started a new tutorial at Code Project about COM/ActiveX you can read at the above URL), it always amuses me when endusers take a cavalier attitude toward hacking. http://www.codeproject.com/com/com_in_c1.asp How do we know that the above link you provided is not exactly the type of thing you just described...? So we the uneducated click on your link, and "WHAM" your little program goes to work.... NO THANKS.... Hope you have an awesome sunday....:-)

You know.... I have been a moderator at RDNA for over 2 years. How do you think I responded when I went to login in yesterday...??? No I did not freak out, I simply read the entire page, which, "if you read it" gave you all the clues you needed to know that it was a joke. Personally...my hat's off to them for thinking up such a "GREAT" and witty April Fools Joke. YES people it is and was a joke. For those of you who got all freaked out...maybe you need some anal bug spray to fix your problems. The people at RNDA are by far the best group of individuals to ever grace a 3D community, and I would not want to be anywhere else..."PERIOD"!!!

To all who have read and responded to this thread... My aim here is not to whine, cry, complain, or grip. It is one of pure curiosity... If the image in question was an exceptional piece of work, had 18 votes, and several comments, there would be no questions. Mine is one of how...??? 2 comments....18 votes...not likely unless the individual who posted the image has used cloned accounts to vote for their own work. If this is the case it is not only wrong, but shows a lack of integrity, morals, and appreciation for real artwork. Is it a big deal...not really, but in some ways "YES". However, if this individual feels they need to boost their own self-esteem by voting for themselves...so be it. Those of us who have been in this artist community for a long time know what true art is.... (when the artist is happy and satisfied with their own work, with out faking any applause or fame.)

SHONNER.... That is exactly my point!!!! How could an image like that receive 18 votes, and only 2 comments.....
Thread: Just Curious | Forum: Vue
Well,
This individual has 2 images in the "HOT 20" and both of them have very few comments, but lots of votes.
SHONNER....
I know that people can vote without leaving a comment, but it just strikes me odd, that with only 2 comments, this image has 18 votes. Sounds like someone is padding the votes with cloned accounts. It has happened in the past where people think they have to have placements and comments to make their work mean something....

Thread: pro cad pll say poser isnt 3d | Forum: Community Center
You know..... I totaly amazes me that people have the audacity to say this is art and this is not. I don't like this interface, or that one. Well.....then don't use them!!! I do not look at how easy or hard a program is to use, I look at it for what it can do for me, as well as the price tag that is attached. Personaly I use Poser5 and Vue5. Why? Beacuse they do what I need and want. Does that make my work any less art, or 3D art? If you say yes, then you are a moron. Art is not a matter of grabbing a few preset models and slamming them into a scene. You have got to have composition. Anyone can jump into just about "any" 3D program and make something. Does that make it art..... Art is all subjective to the viewer. If I don't like something, I don't bitch about it, I just don't look at it. I am getting my degree in Graphic Design. My color theory prof is a locl artist. Personally I do not like any of his work, but does that take away from the fact that he is an artist? NO!! I use Photoshop. Why not Paintshop Pro, they both do similar things? I do not care for the design in PSP. So I use Photoshop. My point is.....if you don't like a program, then don't use it! I just wish those individuals who bark up the wrong tree about what is and is not art would just concentrate their efforts and energies into their own art. Or maybe they are not artists....???
