I guess it would appear that the dedicated hobbyist base that supported them over the years while they worked their way toward acceptance in major industries has been cast aside.

I just called and they said there's no upgrade from 7. Can only assume they'll sell a discounted full version... not sure why they do this - must be all the big accounts keep them happy enough.

Unfortunately, for a hobbyist (me), this means I may never use the software again.

Hi Emily! Funny you should mention, that's just what I did here- just rendered, saved as a Tiff, and threw the background down in Photoshop. I'd rather not have the problems though ;) Andrew

G5 Dual 2 gig, 256 ram was 1:26 at default settings.

Kind of ironic - I've been an investor in Viewpoint (whoops, Metacreations) for a long time and they've always been really good to us Mac users... Viewpoint, on its own, however, well... hasn't. On some levels I figured when Metacreations bought them it might change a bit.... but their demo reel is still for Windows Media Player only. Hm.... Well, I still think they're a good company, even though their stock tanked. Oh well.

Thanks - That's sort of what I'm talking about, though I need actual diffuse transmission! Here the glass still looks too much like lexan or something. Nice image, though. Did you paint that yourself? Andrew
