AO, thank you for explaining what I couldn't...(I've never been very good at that sort of thing. understanding, yes. explaining? not to save my life)

Nah. Alice Cooper's not goth at all. He's more the godfather of shock rock (and the inspiration for Marilyn Manson, who's anything but goth). Goth has its primary roots in punk, actually, with a touch of glam on the side and evolved from there, incorporating elements of the New Romantic movement.

Quote - Okay, how's this?
Skin tone looks good. Darken the hair, change the lipstick to a dark crimson, and you'll be closer to a real goth. Don't think vampire, don't think marilyn manson and definitely don't think suicidal/depressed emo kid.
Try more Bauhaus, Cruxshadows, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cure, Rasputina...
a dash of finding the beauty in the macabre, a pinch of the light within the darkness, a touch of victoriana...

Quote - Dawn in DS!
This is Dawn in Hongyu's Shirt for V4 and Jeans for V4...in Daz Studio...via autofit. :)
And here I was just getting ready to make a request for clothing conversion tutorials for DS! (Would still like to see some, there are things I have that don't like to convert--specifically I've been struggling with LaraV4 from the b2basics line by 4blueeyes)

Dawn looks very nice. I can't wait!
For the purpose of contributing to the "is this realistic" discussion, I'd just like to toss out my definition of what's realistic: meets real life architectural/engineering/ergonomics standards (which are used as guidelines in designing furniture, ergonomic workspaces, architecture/blueprints, etc: "a person of average height will have, on average, a torso of X length, hips of Y length, and an arm reach of Z") as far as proportions go (length of torso vs length of thighs vs length of arms vs...). After the renders I've seen so far, this is the only concern I have that I've heard nothing on regarding the default shape.
Content I'd like to see: contemporary, casual, outdoors-y, sportswear (including "extreme" sports), sci-fi clothing (everything from things similar to Starfleet uniforms to the most extreme of sci-fi. (an example of "extreme" would be a catsuit with transparency that fluctuates based on biometric data* - heart rate, breathing, body heat generated in the specific area, etc)), military/law enforcement gear (including body armor of varying types and tech levels), a good selection of swimwear...
*something like this was actually in a novel I read years ago, I forget which one...I've read so many...

There are things that I don't like about every figure that I currently have access to (which isn't very many, yet)...and there are things I do like. So far, Dawn seems to take the best of all, while minimizing the problems I've seen with other figures (though I have a hard time expressing much of what I notice in words, but most of them are related to proportions. I think). I wasn't trying to start an argument...
So...any further news/renders of Dawn coming soon?

Laurie
She also doesn't have the thighzilla effect that Genesis has! o/
But it looks good, naked in a temple with a sword
She does have thunder thighs, doesn't she? ;)
If there's one thing that really bugs me about genesis more than anything else, it's the thighs. To me, that's the most glaringly obvious thing, anyway

I have to say, I'm not a fan of the "4 download attempt limit". I'd much prefer to see a "Download Library" setup like Daz is using now.
After all, if the connection hiccups or something, that's a wasted download. And what if a hard drive crashes and you're forced to rebuild your runtime from scratch? That would be very discouraging, to find you have to purchase everything all over again:
"crap, the connection barfed!" wasted download
ack! someone tripped a breaker! wasted download
grr! someone unplugged the router! wasted download
successful download
ack! a hard drive just conked out! now I have to redownload everything all over again "no more downloads available" cries
This might be a little extreme, perhaps, but I hope my point is made.

Very nice image. One thing, though. Maybe it's just me, but the eyelashes seem too long and too thick to be natural.

Will Dawn be completely accurate to human proportion? Like, the level of accuracy needed for objects made to real life architectural and ergonomics design standards?
Also, as a suggestion for the male counterpart's name, I suggest "Joe" (I'm a big fan of Joe Linsner's Dawn :D )
