Dirk..if thats the way you want to do things then fine..do it that way. whatever floats your boat. But I have noticed a few know it alls around here who seem to think that their methods of commenting and ranking are the way everyone should do it. Sound familiar? What gives me the right to comment on a artists image is the fact that they WANT comments. I'll not pass up an invitation to point out a great image, or to point out the flaws in what COULD be a great image. I dont usually comment on the crappy ones, unless someone trys to pass off photograph fakes as poser (pet peave). The crappy images speak for themselves i think LOL .

Has anyone noticed that the butt kissin clique hasnt posted a peep in this thread? I'm amazed it took anyone this long to notice the "desease" as you put it. I've been flamed to high heaven for even daring to critique a clique members post. Everytime this pack of loyal, but less than bright, hounds point out that the critics "only have one or two pictures in their gallery" or "are just jealous" or "have no talent" etc etc ad nauseum. Nice to be appreciated for providing constructive critisism. I am disgusted every day by posts with 50+ comments and 40+ rankings of flowery praise and lavish butt kissery for a image that at best is good. not excellent, not great, but good. The galleries are not a talent contest. lets get this straight right now. They are a popularity contest. nothing more, nothing less. The name gets the rankings and comments, not the "art". I'll keep posting my working and showing it off to my friends when they want to look. The clique hounds can keep their insincere comments for members of their circle. I prefer the honest critics thanks.

I'm not saying this guy should be censored. And i'm not saying critisism is bad. He critisized my work, and while his tone leaves alot to be desired some of his points were valid. I checked the comment box i'll live with the results. I'm also not saying that every comment needs to be flowery and full of praise..the hot 20 is a infuriating example of cliques and circles of friends running amok. What got my back up is the judgemental tone of the post. "To me renderosity has become little more than a cg porn site. Don't be a part of the problem, be a part of the solution. Remember 3d is an art so lets see some artwork" or "Needs alot of work. Just remember this is not a porn site it is an "supoes" to be an art gallery." is arrogant and insulting to the artist, and totally uncalled for.

i dont think it necessarily should be removed either. he's not quite trolling, just being beligerent. As far as i'm concerned if you check the comments box then take what you get. My problem is with the holier than thou attitude some people display when commenting. Constructive critisism is one thing, passing on moral commandments and belittling others work is another.

Ochre i'm sure people do agree with you, my point is (for example) why should a 14 year old not be proud of his naked vicki creation? and 2 what gives you the right to tell him that it is no good? The solution for you is very simple. Dont look at the images that you suspect contain nudes or creations not to a level of your liking. But as a artist, of many mediums, I do not appreciate someone telling me what i can and cannot create, or that what i do is not up to their "level". I dont like Picassos work myself but i'm not going to tell people who create in a similar stlye that they are wrong. It's not my place. And renderosity is not full of juvenile or crass art. Such a thing doesnt exist if you have a open mind.

You know ..there's alot of talk in here about how this is renderositys little chunk of net space and they can do what they want....well i agree and disagree to a point. Rendo's powers that be decided to make this a public place where all types can gather and do whatever it is they do. If they dont want personality conflicts and arguments than i submit that they had bettter damn well make this a private club with a no-personality members only policy. While it is not socially acceptable for people to curse, scream and throw punches in public (at least in most places this side of jerry springer), no one who runs a public establishments can tell their patrons not to have lively and maybe sometimes loud discussions and ...gasp...even arguments about any subject they choose. And while there is always the one or two little whiny chumps in the corner who will run to managment and cry every chance they get, the majority of us rational thinkers are quite capable of governing our own behavior.

Comrade Mason it's called freedom of speech and being treated like an adult. If you dont like having to deal with a bunch of stubborn and opinionated artists than turn your computer off or change the url you're at. People are going to argue because thats what they do. people are also going to argue this edict from spike because we're tired of being treated like juveniles. Argument is good for the soul and it provides in most cases a learning experience. It's also part of what defines a community. What we're being told is to sit on our hands and behave like good children. I for one dont like it and I for one will argue about it, and if you're so concerned about it why the hell did you reply to this thread? bit hypocriticle if you ask me.

well i dont post in the forum much as i cant read an entire thread without going cross eyed and drooling alot, but shall we call this the Legume law? Seems to me that anyone with a controversial opinion, taste , style, mind, personality is pretty much in for a rough ride now that we're cleaning this town up. So for all those that disagree with me you may kindly keep it to yourself, as disagreeing with me might get you and all your alter egos banned from the community. As a kid the first movie i remember scaring the living crap out of me was Jaws. I vividly remember waking from a nightmare that night and my bed felt like it was still bobbing in the ocean that was in my dream. The Blob, The Thing and Alien are distant contenders from jaws but they were creepy. As a horror fan, i enjoy (and by enjoy i mean i feel the need to shower after watching them) Hellraiser 1,2,3.
