Today when I opened Poser Pro 2014, it asked to update Adobe Air which is very much out of date on my computer. I refused to after all the problems with the now defunct Adobe Flash that killed our Libraries. I don't know if the Adobe Air update is necessary or just another trick to make Poser disappear for good. At this point I'm not too trusting. I know eventually I'll probably have to upgrade to Poser 12, but not now when it's in beta.

Thread: Opened Poser 10 today... libraries replaced by a flashplayer icon. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The fix works for Poser Pro 2014. I noticed the library is in a separate window and doesn't seem to dock anymore. It's better than nothing so I'm not going to complain.

Thread: Why Does Poser Pro 11 Now Require Me 2B Connected to the Internet to Boot? | Forum: New Poser Users Help
I've been having this issue recently too. It expects me to be connected to the internet to "renew" Poser Pro 11. The computer where I have Poser 11 installed stays offline so I guess I will be uninstalling Poser 11 and putting Poser Pro 2014 back on. This activation crap started years ago I think by Adobe, and has become a major nuisance to users who have already paid for the software. I guess I won't be upgrading again.

Thread: How About A Poser Only Website? | Forum: Suggestion Box
True. I blame the vendors who are not supporting Poser or the ones who did before and no longer support it. It makes no sense to me if they still have the software, but probably easier for them to not have to convert it. I'm just glad there are still some faithful vendors providing content I can use. Many times I buy it and never get around to using it. I will never move to DAZ Studio. I always hated the interface and found it confusing. They have a lot of nice content, but if Poser can't read it I can't buy it.

Thread: How About A Poser Only Website? | Forum: Suggestion Box
I totally agree. There's too many DAZ Studio items on Renderosity when originally DAZ produced Poser models. Renderosity Marketplace is predominantly DAZ Studio models now, and far too many female items. A new male model was created for Poser 11, and it's going the same way that M4 did. I still use M4 and V4 mostly. New figures mean having to buy all new wardrobes for them. The male characters always get cheated in that regard then vendors drop support or limit what they produce while female characters have the Hollywood closet of their dreams. I know, men's clothing are boring or maybe not much fun creating.
I agree there should be a Poser-only website even if it isn't Renderosity--and not include any DAZ Studio items since they already have too many options.

Not only is my up-to-date Firefox browser giving me the warning, so is my up-to-date Opera browser giving me the warning, and I used to visit Poser Addicts often, back in the day.
I get warnings from Malwarebytes when I go there. Who wants to buy from an unsecure website? I was hacked a few years ago on Renderosity then nobody said anything for several months. Typical businesses these days. They let you know long after the damage has been done to your accounts then they wonder why nobody supports them.
I just checked the PoserAddicts store and it appears to be open for business. It looks like the same old cheesy stuff from the last century so I'll pass. I still wouldn't trust using a credit card there. It might be under new management by a scammer. I've had too much experience with that.

Smith-Micro/Content Paradise have virtually flipped us the finger when they filled their store with DAZ Studio-only content. This just shows their betrayal to the Poser community and lack of support. I hope nobody upgrades to the next version of Poser since SM no longer supports it. I don't plan to and I've been using Poser since Fractal Design days. When the well dries up here I'm gone.

There is a ton of V4 and M4 content in the Legacy store at PoserAddicts but no one buys anything there anymore. Poser users complain there is nothing for V4 and M4, yet there are thousands of products which rolled off of Renderosity which we took up and continue to offer long after they were removed from the store here. To allow those amazing products to continue to be legally available to those who supported and used Poser. As Male-M3dia said above - we saw products that were the norm over 10 years ago, continue to be created for, but even Smith-Micro and Content Paradise don't actively make anything for their own figures which compete with anything being made for Daz Studio and its Genesis line of figures. The money is there in that market, which is technologically growing and moving forward. If Poser was so the product of choice then Poser exclusive stores like PoserAddicts would have tons of sales rather than maybe clearing around $20.00 USD a month in profits. I just left it there in case anyone wanted the amazing products which are in that store, and that makes over 5000+ Poser related products, which no one seems to want.
Many of us don't know these Poser products exist because the search engine here is broken. Many times I search for only M4 items and as usual get very few results. Then last week I was browsing for something else and found all of these M4 items that never appear during a search and they are old items. I also wish when I search for M4 items that V4 items would not also appear. It just shows the numbers are all wrong.

It's quite possible it was my computer. Just the other day it was so slow it would not even function. It took two days to reset and update. I may install 11.1 again, but probably not on that computer.

I believe them, because I understand how the hack probably happened and what they mean when they say the financial information was hashed.
That's what they say, but they probably don't know and may not know for several years. So what do they do? Sell out to somebody else. Why should we trust them? I don't. So many companies have done the same thing under the same circumstances.

Thread: Bentley Systems Acquires E-on Software | Forum: Vue
It takes a long time for many customers to trust a company again especially since they intentionally withheld information for several years. I don't care who took over E-on. I never heard of them so why should I trust them? Their apology is a canned response and meaningless to me.
Prior to ordering Vue 2016 years ago if I had known they were operating out of France I never would have ordered it. Canada is bad enough because there are some crooked companies there I've had problems with who do not supply usable product keys. I had to deal with the dysfunctional Canadian BBB to get my money back several months later. I don't even live in Canada. The company lied and said they had an office in the U. S. when they did not. If you have software product keys that suddenly don't work you can blame this Canadian company.
This is just an example of not knowing who or what you're dealing with especially when a company was reputable at one time then turned crooked later. I know several examples of those. I think in E-on's case they were just negligent with protecting our information then covered it up for years.

Thread: Bentley Systems Acquires E-on Software | Forum: Vue
E-on's website was compromised and they claim no financial information was stolen. I don't believe them nor should anybody else since they discovered the theft occurred several years ago. Typical companies that don't tell their customers until years later because they're afraid they'll go out of business. They should go out of business. E-on is on my list with other software companies not to do business with anymore. I also will not place an order with a company in a country other than my own because it causes problems with the bank and I don't trust other countries handling my personal information. There have been so many problems lately with websites being hijacked and we're the last to hear about it.

I have discovered converting Genesis figures to Poser without the need for the DSON converter is not always reliable even when having Poser create the geometry. I've gone back to use what I thought were converted models only to find they didn't work. Some do and some don't. There's also a lot of work that has to be done manually in the CR2 files. I've tried some of the conversion Python programs and they don't always clean up all of the junk.
I gave up on Genesis and only use the Mil4 characters. They're easier to work with and I don't like DSON loaded with Poser because it causes instability issues. Poser hates DSON and so do I.
