Quote - This is why it is fortunate that you have a DAZ Studio user lurking in this forum. The "data" and "People" folders indicates that this a Studio character preset. You won't be able to use it to morph V4 in Poser. If the "Textures" folder does have texture files in it you could apply them manually.
Okay... since you say you are a DAZ Studio user... how do I go about downloading Renderosity purchased items into DAZ 3D 4.0???

Quote - If Sofia is a Rendo product, I'll find it. To place a link in a post, go to the site, highlight the browser URL, copy, then proceed to your post and paste. You may get a challenge to the paste, just click allow.
Edit: I just checked the character package you purchased; it is Sophia with a ph not an f. It is important you use exact spelling. The readme with that package has specific instructions for unzipping and installation as well as how to inject the morphs. You will need V4 Morph++ package from DAZ3D, otherwise you will not see any changes to the model.
Now, how did you unzip the content?
The first time, I used "7 zip". After using that, I got some empty folders within what was unzipped. I contacted "Renderousity" support on the phone and the person I spoke with suggested "Winzip". The problem I am having with "Winzip" is that the whole folder isn't a whole folder. Part of it isn't with the rest of the folder.

Quote - If they are all empty then there is no content unzipped into that runtime. This is a problem. How did you unzip the compressed file? Give me step-wise details how you did this. ATM, you have no content which is a problem. Also, provide a link to the Sofia character. I would like to examine the readme from the link.
Someone suggested "7-Zip" and I went online and downloaded it. Plus... how do I "provide a link to the Sofia character"? Do you mean a link to Renderosity and the character's package or a link to what I have? I'm not sure how to do that.

Quote - You are trying to nest the runtimes which will lead to confusions. Understand, each linked folder must contain only one runtime folder. If your Poser content already contains a runtime folder then the Sofia folder cannot be placed into it. You can take the Sofia runtime and merge it with the Poser Content runtime, but you cannot do what you described.
Open your Sofia folder and verify that it has a runtime folder. Then open that runtime folder. Please describe what is in that folder.
I opened the Sofia folder. What appears inside that is, a data folder, Documentation folder, People folder, and Runtime folder (in that order from top of page leading down. I clicked the Runtime folder to open it and there is a libraries folder and a textures folder. I clicked the libraries folder and ten folders appear. From the top of page leading down, the folders are, camera, character, face, hair, hand, light, materials, Pose, props, and scene. I clicked each of these folders and they all are empty. Could this be the problem???

Quote - Sofia has her own runtime folder so the libraries folder should already exist. Link that Sofia folder to Poser. You have already been instructed how to do that. Do you understand that procedure. or do we have to reiterate the steps again? There is an image posted. If you managed to link the Sofia folder to Poser, then you need to open the proper Library category for this character. That would be the Pose section which can be opened by clicking on the gray running man icon at the top of the library. The Sofia folder should show subfolders which will contain your content.
I've tried severa times with creating a "Poser Content" folder and putting the Sofia folder inside it. When I click on the gray running man icon to download the Poser Content folder, it shows and I click on it. The Poser Content folder shows up in Poser but as an empty folder even with the Sofia folder inside it.

Quote - Then you need to open the sofia folder and check to see if there is a runtime folder within. That Sofia folder should be within a runtime folder, under 2 levels of subfolders, a Libraries folder and a Pose folder. Sofia folder will not show up on its own.
Yes there is a Runtime folder within the Sofia folder, but what should be in the Libraries folder and what should be in the Poser folder so that the Sofia foder will work? Do I create a new folder and label it "Libraries" or take an exisiting "Libraries" foler and use it? The same question for the "Poser" folder.

Quote - well what folder is inside the poser content folder. What folders are inside the folder within the poser content folder?
I've tried placing the "Sofia" folder inside the Poser Content folder alone and the reading I get in Poser is that there is not Runtime folder.

Quote - > Quote - Okay... I just created a "Poser Content" folder in MY Doctuments and also created a Runtime folder within it. Then I placed the "Sofia" contents inside the Runtime folder. Clicked on the Poser Content folder inside Poser and the folder had this (0) next to it. Let me know what I did wrong, please.
I think this is the problem and it's a very common problem.
When you unzip "Sofia", there should be a folder called "runtime" within those unzipped files.
Drag that runtime folder into your Poser Content folder, not into the runtime folder. You do not want a runtime inside a runtime. Instead, you want the new Sofia runtime folder to merge with the Poser Content runtime folder. When you drag the runtime into the Poser Content folder and there already is a runtime in there, a dialogue box will appear and it will ask, Do you still want to merge this folder? Click "yes".
If you already have a runtime in your Poser Content folder and you are moving the Sofia runtime into it and you do NOT get this dialogue box, then you are putting the Sofia runtime into the wrong place.
I've done what you have suggested and the Poser Content folder appears in Poser once I click on it from the menu, but it reads "empty". There was a time when I couldn't do that, but now that I can download the Poser Content folder I don't understand why the folder reads "empty" after doing what you have suggested.

Quote - > Quote - Okay... if I create a folder and name the folder Poser Content and then place the folder in my Documents, would that folder be placed in the correct area or should it be placed on the Desktop?
You can put that folder anywhere you want. You can put it on another drive, you can put it on a USB stick, you can put it on an external drive. You can create a really big and complicated file tree and place it there. It's entirely up to you.
It's not wise, in Vista and Windows 7, to place it in the Program Files directory because User Account Controls in these versions of windows restrict what can be saved in this directory for security reasons. You can override these restrictions, but in the end it is much simpler just to locate your Poser Content folder anywhere else. :)
My Documents would be a fine place. I do not, myself, place content files on the Desktop as I have heard that having a great many files on the desktop can slow down the loading of the desktop (when the system reboots). And runtimes get very, very big indeed. I place them on my root drive at C:/Poser Content/People or C:/Poser Content/Animals and so on. You can name the directory anything you want. And you can have more than one directory. I have about 12.
But again, inside My Documents is fine. As long as you do not move this folder, it's fine, and it will be easy to find.
Once you've made this directory/folder, move the "Runtime" folders that are inside the extracted zip files into this directory/folder. (I move the documentation and the readme's as well).
Then in Poser, when you link to the folder, link to the main directory you created (not the folder called "runtime". In my case, I would link to a folder located at C:/Poser Content/ People (for my people purchases). For my animal purchases, I would link to "C:/Poser Content/Animals"
I would not link to "C:/Poser Content/People/Runtime".
If you only wanted to have one directory (only one "runtime" as we call it), you would move all the runtimes from all of your purchases into one main directory. So it would look more like C:/Poser Content/Runtime. But you would tell Poser to link to the main directory "C:/Poser Content".
Does that make sense?

So... you would label a folder "Poser Content/People" and another folder "Poser Content/Animals" and another folder "Poser Content/Clothing"? I just want to be sure I understand, because I want to get this right. There are a lot of items on "Renderosity" that I'd like to get setup in Poser.

Quote - can you open that folder out so we can see and take another screencapture please.
I tried to show a screencapture, but my computer doesn't reveal any.

Quote - And what actual item is that? A prop? A character? Conforming clothing or a new model? What is the name of the content you are trying to load?
A character... Sofia.

This is a repost from page one. In the library, you must click the running man + icon on the upper right hand corner as encircled in the image. That will open a new window where you will navigate to your folder containing your unzipped runtime. Notice the wording, ...navigate to your folder containing your unzipped runtime.
Yes, you must unzip your renderosity purchases.
This has been done, but the problem came up to where the items were not listed as being within the folders once I clicked the running man + icon on the upper right hand corner. There were a lot of folders, but the content, the actual item came up empty.

Quote - > Quote - > Quote - > Quote - I have Victoria 4 on Poser now... the problem is having a "Runtime" folder for my "Renderosity" purchases. They have been "unzipped" but I am not sure how to have them appear on Poser.
Do you know how to create folders in Windows Vista? Do you know how to move, copy, or rename folders? Do you know how to open folders in Windows Explorer? Do you know how to open more than one Windows Explorer window so that you can move folders from one place to another?
Yes... thank you.
Then this is what you should do.
-- Create a folder where you are going to put your Poser Content. It is best if this is not located within the Program Files directory.
-- Then unzip your purchases.
-- Then move the folders inside the unzipped files (usually at Renderosity they are called "Documentation" and "Runtime" -- sometimes "Readme" and "Runtime") into the Poser Content folder you created.
-- Go into Poser and link the Poser Content folder as shown more than once already in this thread.
I'm sorry but it is truly hard to understand which part of this confuses you.
Okay... if I create a folder and name the folder Poser Content and then place the folder in my Documents, would that folder be placed in the correct area or should it be placed on the Desktop?

Quote - If you look in your Victoria 4 folder, you will see a runtime folder. Your unzipped runtime folder should either go into the Victoria 4 folder which will appear automatically in Poser. Or you can create a new folder with a different name and add you unzipped runtime folder in there. However, you must link that new folder to Poser. Do you know how to do that?
No... how do you link the new folder to Poser? Also... I've unzipped the folders of the products from Renderosity... wasn't I supposed to unzip them or not???
