Oh my! what a joyful surprise to be included in this lineup. I am greatly honored to have one of my works selected. I am in agreement with many of the earlier comments in that this is a good lineup of wonderful photography. Congratulations to all of you for your great works!

I knew I could count on you guys. I think those will work nicely for what I hope to work on. I will post something here pretty soon. I try a couple of test renders and add some coloration to some of the maps.

I am looking forward to seeing some of these textures you are working on. Let us know when you have something to use.

I had thought of the 16-bit version as well. I must be doing something wrong. When I save a file as a 16-bit grayscale in TIF format, it will load into Bryce in the terrain editor but doesn't seem to make any visible difference. I read in the the Photoshop help files that PS can do HDR images in 32-bit but unfortunately when I try to load them into Bryce I get this error: "An unexpected error has occurred (generic failure)"

Thanx for the visual examples guys! These are all great. And as I suspected, inspiring. I like them all from the simple to the complex. I wish on the lamppost productions they had made them rusty looking - I think that would've had more character. Great work all around!

Could any of you guys post images here or links showing any samples of your commercially successful works? Some may not be as 'exciting' or as 'exotic' as the usual fare for this site but it would definately be educational and inspiring to us novices.

Well, isn't this interesting. I came today with a specific question about this specific program (in connection with Bryce). How about that?! I noticed the free version of 3D canvas only exports in POVRay. So, does anyone know of a way to convert POVRay files into a format that Bryce will import?
And besides that, do you have any recommendations for other modeling software, of an introductory level, that will work with Bryce? I am a total novice with modeling.

I like the little preview images you are showing us. I like the direction this is going. I am looking forward to seeing the finished piece. Have you considered using any lights other than the cone lights or radial lights? Perhaps one of the boxy parallel lights stretched out longways?

If he should reset the trap, how about spraying it with some noxious substance that cats hate the smell of to keep any cats from being drawn to it? Not sure what that might be. Citrenella works good for dogs; maybe for cats also?
Thread: Bryce 5.5 glitch - Camera Panning | Forum: Bryce
The pan tool (hand icon at lower right) works just fine for me. Thanx for bringing that to my attention. I had forgotten that it is there; I got so used to typing in values when in a side view and having the camera selected. The latter technique still doesn't work for me. And when I use the pan tool even though the camera view changes, the "FOV" guide lines do not change. Oh well, at least for now, I think the manual workaround will get me by. Thanx!

Flak, now that you mention it, yes, that happened to me a LOT in Bryce 5. Once I had a camera setting I liked I would save it in a button setting so that when it reset I could reload it. Annoying but at least it could BE SET. In Bryce 5.5 it won't respond at all.
Dan, You've perked my curiosity... I'm not sure I ever use the Pan ICON. I'll look for that.
