and this is why I love Renderosity. I learn more from you guys than from any book.

Here is the revised image. Made a big difference. Also whitened the snow texture as my kids said that he was dirty looking. Thanks everyone for the lesson.

ok, I'm either clueless or an idiot. You guys are referring to stuff I have no clue of. OK. I rendered this in Poser 7 using the firefly render engine. Where's raytraced? Where's SMB? Man, I've been playing with Poser for years and I've missed this completely. Maybe I am an idiot.

I use Silo 2.1.1 for Mac and I've had no more crashing problems than I have with any other modeling program. Silo has been better than most, especially comparing the price. I've also tried various programs and this one has been relatively easy to use from the start, especially when compared to other programs. Still have much to learn but I'd recommend it.

Lots of good information. I thought what BeyondVR stated was true I was just hoping that there would be another option. If I export the complete chair as an obj, I get only one obj for materials. I've tried making it a figure but then I get some strange rotation issues that I need to study.
