Subject: The greatest 3d pinup book!!!

Acedrake ( ) posted Sun, 22 December 2002 at 2:39 PM · edited Thu, 25 July 2024 at 8:59 AM

I saw it just today in my comic book shop but I didnt have the $40 that it required. I have been trying to find the name of the book all day and so far nothing. This book have the greatest tutorial for a poser pinup I have ever seen plus the most beautiful 3d models created in lightwave, maya and Max. If anyone knows the name of this book, please I beg ouf you post it here. I though it was 3D babes but I might have been mistaken.

I remember seeing a book called Digital Beauties that had some lovely art in it (including some from well-known members here), but I didn't see a tutorial in it. Sounds interesting though, I hope someone else knows more. SnowS

I do not speak as a representative of DAZ, I speak only as a long-time member here. Be nice (and quit lying about DAZ) and I'll be nice too.

if you mean "digital beauties" it doesn't have any poser tutorials in it and to be honest i'd save your money and check the gallery here, the images are much better quality and free....the book has some superb images but, more some than most ;o)......Steve

Digital Beauties is a wonderful book! Bought it some time ago and it's worth every cent.

Acedrake check the link if it's the book you're lookin' for...

If not: Hmm, i am always interested in new books...

Or is it: "Digital Fantasy Painting: A Step-By-Step Guide to Creating Visionary Art on Your Computer" by Michael Burns? This is one I am still considering to buy...

Are we talking about the same book...Digital Beauties is one of the worst piles of wood pulp I have seen. In fact I can't believe that someone was actual allowed to kill trees to produce the paper for this book. Do yourself a favour and get a mens magazine with real women! ;o) Cheers

Digital Beauties was a huge disappointment. Some good pics, but most of the Poser stuff in it wouldn't even get a single comment in the Gallery here. Sad. Lots of default Posettes and Vickys. Ridiculous! :] Fish

Actually the book isnt Digital Beauties, the whole book is created by japanese artists and in it there is several tutorials in Max and the last part has a pinup creation tut for poser. The hair was done with paths strand by strand, it looks time consuming, but the results WOW, also painting cloths on the model. And the first part of the book looks like it was created by the creators of Final Fantasy:Spirits within. And also a tut on creating hair in max.

Digital Beauties IIRC came out a few years back, when most folks would've killed for even a default Posette image :) there's also a website devoted to pinups - link up top of this post.

The title should be Virtual Beauties 2020. There are 2 editions. 1st edit with extra pinups pages. 2nd without. Thought I wanted to buy it and in the end I didn't coz it's expensive and most pictures like Yuki Terai are already available somewhere.
