Today, scientists would probably investigate a virgin birth as a case of Parthogenesis, which happens occasionally (I should say rarely) in turkeys, some insects, etc., in which offspring is produced in a species that normally needs both sperm and egg to reproduce. As I recall, the offspring is invariably female (it would have to be, since there is no Y chromosome donated by the male) and I think the offspring is unable to reproduce at all (not certain about this). This process is basically unassisted cloning. We have become less spiritual, and I think to our detriment. I believe in miracles. Thanks for the thought-provoking pic, Colette.
This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.
