"What 3D Program Should I buy?" Not one person here can really tell you what's best for you, as everyone has their own taste in workflow. Try the demo or learning edition of the program you're interested in, this is the only way to find out which programs you like.

Does anybody have a clue if ArchiCAD files (.gsm) can be converted to a more 'useable' format such as .3ds or .obj? I have scoured the web, or at least a chunk of it, looking for a converter, or even another CAD program that would import the .gsm files and save them as .dxf or .dwg, but have been very unlucky. You see, I downloaded some models I thought might come in handy one day and days after downloading them I opened the zip files only to find them in ArchiCAD format. I'm not really wanting to buy another peice of software in order to do this. Hopefully somebody out there knows of a freebie or trial software that I can use. Thanks for any help you might offer, -proteus-
