THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Exporting 3ds from Bryce?

I've been making objects in Rhino and exporting them in 3ds format. After importing into Bryce everything seems ok until I try to export them back out again. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be, I know I can't export obp but these don't have any Bryce parts in them? Any info will be very much appreciated. Thanks. Catlin

Hit the e Button when the object is selected then hit Ctrl Alt & the D key together roch222

Thanks very much roch222 I'll go try it and hopefully I'll get them out. The thing is, I want to share what I make and put them in freebies and it wouldn't be fair if the only objects I can give are in obp.

Catlin, I've seen several obps in freestuff. I think It'll be ok. be sure to note that it's an obp and the version of Bryce used to create it/them in the footnotes. - TJ

If you are planning on texturing them in Bryce then giving them out I don't think the textures export (only for terrains). I've tried it and it didn't work for either .3ds or .obj So you could just use the .3ds file you exported from Rhino without bothering with Bryce.

I was given Rhino as a present but have been concentrating on model building and as yet don't know about it's texturing abilities. If anyone has any ideas on this I'd love to hear them, also would I have to get the UV mapper that all Poser folk speak of?

Catlin,
can't help you with Rhino, you lucky so and so, but here's the link to uvmapper. Just DL the classic version and if you like it get the pro version.
