OK, my machine was lagging and I accidentally opened two simultaneous Surface Material windows. One of them won't close, and so I can't access the rest of the menus and commands (like SAVE). Anybody else ever faced this before? It's very frustrating. I saved about an hour ago, but wouldn't want to lose what I've been doing.

heyas; look for a thing on your task bar (if you have windoze) that starts with an 'o.' click on that, and it should be the extra mat window asking you to hit okay or open your texture file or whatnot. i get this all the time, when i try to load a texture, i hit the material window 'ok' instead of the file browser 'open.' then the material closes and the file picker doesn't. and, of course, my material ain't applied? and, OF COURSE, when i open it again, it's all greyed out. if you somehow started two mat palettes without doing what i do, you may not have the 'o' thing. if so, and there's no 'task' for it... you're stuck. on a mac, no clue. :)
