Subject: Hair using Wacom Tablet

Firebirdz ( ) posted Mon, 30 December 2002 at 6:21 PM · edited Sat, 16 November 2024 at 1:17 PM

I just sold my ArtzII Wacom tablet as it does not work well on WinXP and intend to get either Graphire 2 or Intuos 2 Wacom Tablet but because of the difference in price, I will probably get the graphire 2 one. Is anyone using any of these tablets for drawing hair for poser and does the Graphire one suffice for hair ?

I have a triple boot system (98,2K, XP) and the Graphire 2 works superbly with them all. Now if only windows98 would stop acting up ...

I have a Graphire2 on XP. No difficulties at all. I don't make hair but I play around with many different size brushes (in Painter, PS, and PSP) in various mediums with good results. And less stress on my wrist. Good luck.

Well I'm not sure if my answer is of any use. I believe I have the Graphire tablet. I bought the cheapest that I could and at the time of purchase I was limited to what I could get because I had no USB port and had to go with the mouse connection. It works fine with XP however if the computer goes into "standby" the tablet ceases to work. But yes if I choose to paint hair on my characters I do use the pen verses the mouse. Macey

I have a graphire I use on XP, but it's too small and hurts my wrist. Mousing doesn't bother me though.

Wow thanks for all the feedback on the Wacom Tablet! The Graphire 2 seems to come only in 4x5 inch size. Is that the size most are using?

macelene ( ) posted Tue, 31 December 2002 at 1:27 AM

Well that is the size I have. Wish it was bigger, but it works.
