Should maybe shoot this one over to the jobsresumes board as well as here, but bit of a hint; when you are trying to get people to commit to your project, don't start off with words like "(no one has messed with it in months)" & "don't have time or inclination" .... if you and the other partners cant show commitment to something then how do you expect others to do so ???
I wasn't aware I was trying to get anyone "committed" to this project...I'm sure as hell not. As mentioned, I'm doing this pro bono, in part because I'm friends with a couple of the partners and also because I thought it would be entertaining, for myself and maybe a few other like-minded folks, from a purely creative point of view. Occaisonally it's a hoot just to tackle a design/illustration project with no deadlines, no restrictions or creative limitations, no boss, no hassles and no greenbacks changing hands.
I hate to be redundant, but the last sentence is "...just to stress the point, this IS NOT a paying project, but if you were thinking about doing some military/industrial renders anyway..."
Anyone who wants to contribute could get a nice published piece for their portfolio and might someday get a few bucks for their talent, but no promises, no committments, and certainly no big ol' payoff.
No need to restress a point that was'nt in question "just to stress the point, this IS NOT a paying project" - I never mentioned or suggested it was or should be. You are asking someone to commit to the project, this doesnt have to mean on a FT or PT basis but can be on a once off contribution - so by definition you are asking for a commitment. What I was trying to say has clearly been missed, why should anyone put effort into this if you and the rest of the group obviously arent too bothered about working on it and that you might get a better response if you removed those words.

Hey kids. Let me start by saying tht this is NOT a paying gig...not for you OR for me. I am involved with a small group of investors who are trying to secure funding for a massive combat simulation game they are developing (think a giant paintball-ish field with several realistic environments; a military base, a factory, a research lab, etc). I have accepted, pro bono of course, the task of taking their investment prosectus and making it clean and pretty (emphasis on pretty) enough to show around to some rich individuals and businesses in the hope that someone might wish to invest some capital. I will need illustrations of the various areas of the facility, combatants, equipment, etc. to get the prospectus back on track (no one has messed with it in months) and don't have the time or inclination to do it all myself. It's more of a strictly creative project than anything else, although if we can use anything you do, we'll give you a copy of the published report and maybe (no details available at this point) a voucher for some green if and/or when the facility gets built. If you are interested, drop me a line and I'll email you a PDF file of the last version of the report to better illustrate what I'm babbling about. Again, just to stress the point, this IS NOT a paying project, but if you were thinking about doing some military/industrial renders anyway...
