Hi all. I wanted to compare Poser4 renders of V3 with V3 maps and V3 remapped to use V2 maps to see if I would "lose" anything by using V2 maps on V3. I don't think there is a clear loss.. I wonder how the Oxana texture looks on V3? Here is Catherina Harder's EXCELLENT V3 hi res Nikita texture from Mec4d.com on V3. On the right is V3 remapped to use V2 maps and the Gaia texture. Besides one being Nordic and the other Southern European, I think they both look more "natural" than the Daz V3 hiRes. Although the eyes are great on the V3 Daz as well as Catherina's Nikita. I t is also interesting on how different the textures make the faces look. They are ostensibly the same mess-default "non-injected" V3. Eric

One on the left looks like a cut out of a fashion makeup ad. one on the right looks like ..umm..err..a Real Doll "companion" haha! I have Gaia, Hires Daz, and hires conture, and Kikita. Funny I was gunna go do these comparisons myself, and now you've gone n done it already for me, thanks. Something seems wierd in your side by side. the right picture looks very plastic, like a Real Doll. From your text I'm a bit confused as to which pic goes with which texture, could you be a bit more specific? This is really interesting testing your doing.

Both look pretty good except the eyes don't look realistic on either of them...

Both of these textures include skin highlights and shadows in the texture, which add a lot of depth. It would be interesting to see a comparison against the DAZ Vic 3 "highlight/contour" texture, which does the same sort of thing. Thanks Eric for posting, I feel a UVS session coming on. Mark

I really love that Nikita texture. It is so flattering. Are we allowed to even hint about anything we don't like about Vicky 3? I love her to pieces but I don't like her nose. However, I do like the no-glow part. Heh

Dizzie- I may have to try "Real eyes1.5" or the Daz eye maps with the Nikita texture. I have another render with Nikita and the Bombshell hair with Nikita's green eyes- and a different light set-the eyes look more real but the skin does not look as good. What do you think? BTW: I mean't "same MESH" not Mess. :-) Spit: some nose morphs would be handy. I have not "injected" everything-so this is default V3 in terms of shapes. Mark: Go for it! It's nice to know the V2 maps are still useful.

The thing with me is the global lighting always seems to leave a little lacking in the "better" textures .. for me better means not having highlights that I have to get rid of when it doesn't match my lighting (Highlight from the right but lighting from the left etc). I just pop up the highlight ammount on the lips and maybe the skin and it works well. I still like some of the other textures out there but just the global lighting is just a little too even making it flat .. delete a few of the lights and you normally get a stronger render for the more universal texture sets.

Ghostofmacbeth,

I agree 100%. I just wanted to keep the same lighting in all comparisons. Here is a V3 render with the Daz Hi Res texture, bombshell hair and more flattering lights.

If your wondering about supplemental eyes Dna Eyez have a V3 fit now. Hope Real eyes will soon-- hint hint!! I like the standard eyes it's just the others have such a wide range of colors and effect. Emily
