Been playing with Photographic abstracts, this image started life as 36 shots of a JCB earthmover I was intending to cut them all up and make a jointer, that little project is still on the burner. But I have tried an abstract instead. What do you think? Comments always welcome, Im here to learn. Have I over done it? **:0)**

not at all! I luv it! Has brilliant, almost liquified color crossed with looking thru a crazy fractual thick piece of glass look... hmmmm, may have to try that with some of my photos :)

Wow some where in there are earthmovers! But a joiner I really can't see that. Do you have a larger version of this Mysnapz? Bsteph

Thanks for your comments folks. Beteph I know you found it in the end If only I could turn metal into gold LOL. The jointer is to come I dont know if you have seen um Its where you cut up your pictures and joint them back together making a new image, this is one I created for the 2D forum Theme still life. Cynlee if you want to have a go I can let you know the technique. Just shout. **:0)**

I'm not much for abstracts. I think they're (usually) very nice to look at but since, it seems, people are supposed to look at them and devine some meaning from them (which I hardly ever seem to be able to do), I tend to shy away from any deep comments...grin...otherwise, I might sound more foolish than I already am.

Yeah, I know what you mean Chuck, There is no hidden meaning in this just a number of pictures of the same subject pieced together and manipulated to be pleasing to the eye, I hope :O) Cynthia, Stop jumping your making the room shake and your damage your eyes reading this and jumping. Here are the easy steps to making this sort of abstract In Photoshop Join together your subject pictures I used about 6 different ones cutting the interesting details from each, I mirrored some parts and rotated others just to add to the abstract. Then using Filter>liquify and the reflection tool, I just drew straight lines across the image clicking for the start position then moving to the end position, holding down the shift button and click. Changed the size of the brush for variation until I was happy with the result. After using this filter I have added a couple of layers for some texture and colour. Have fun **:0)**
