There is no real advantage of choosing MAX 5 over MAX 4 if the only use is modeling objects. Most of the new features involve better rendering and animations options. In both cases , you'll need the free obj export and import plugins . I haven't yet seen the MAX 5 version of these but they should be available . I hope this helps . Evanara
Actually, there is one thing MAX 5 has over Max 4 in modelling, and that is a UVMapping system ALMOST as powerful as UVMapper Pro. However, note the word Almost... you'd be better off getting Max 4 from a liscensed reseller, and then spending the $30 on UVMapper pro, IMHO, if you never intend to render.

If I only want to create some *.obj files and make morph targets without ever wanting to render in Max, which version should I be going for? Does max5 have any better option for these operations or will max4 do as well? With the official Discreet Site I couldn't figure out any advantage I could have from the lastest version, can anybody tell me about his opinion?
