I know somewhere I saw a tutorial for how to create the proper lighting effect for a candle, but I can't find it now. Azl used to have a wonderful lighting tutorial posted, but it's gone (at least I can't find it) and I don't remember if it addressed the issue of candles or not. I suppose I could use one of dodger's torch lights shrunk down (haven't tried that yet), but what I am thinking about is that so many people do lovely candle lit effects that someone might be able to share how they are doing them.

The effect I'm going for, more or less, in the graphic attached.

Oh, yes, that might fit the bill. I think SnowSultan (?) also had something similar. Time for me to dig through my folders. Thank you so much for nudging my memory. I was beginning to think I had fantasized the whole thing.

Also remember that candle wax isn't completely opaque. Getting that inward glow while still blocking objects behind can be tricky... but it is essential.

Yeah, you're right, but I don't think I'm quite at that level of being able to get that look...unless maybe making the candle somewhat translucent would work???? Who knew a candle could be so complicated?

This is an experiment I was working on. The candles are posable and the lights move with them. Poser doesn't really manage lights too well so the sceen has to have no light when you start preferably. If you delete the candle figure, the lights remain. Oh well. very cool but not necessarily viable as a commercial product. I'll see about making it a freebie. Not worth the tech support. The candles are very cool. I'd love to see that available as a download. I can't be the only one who likes to have graphics lit by candlelight. ;)

Anton, your work is so phenominal. Your "free stuff" is better than most of my best stuff. You are so good at this. Hope you do put the candle into free stuff.
